The X Files was created by Chris Carter in 1993. It tells the story of Fox Mulder, an FBI agent who is hell bent on knowing the 'truth' after his sister's abduction at the age of 8. He works on the X Files, cases which are basically very weird, and cannot be solved via scientific or other legitimately accepted ways. The X Files range from murdering humans with genetic defects to alien abductions.
*Season 1*
In season 1 there are 24 episodes. The pilots episode conviniently titled pilot is a very good opening episode to the series (much better than say Buffy the Vampire Slayer's opening episode, that was rubbish!). The season mainly revolves around stand alone episodes, there being only one main story arc which develops slowly. I won't say because I don't want to spoil it! However this story arc is fantastic and ends in the last episode, great! There are a couple of mini arcs, for instance the story in the 3rd episode squeeze is only conclude in the 20th episode Tooms. These episodes are great as are other episodes such as E.B.E, Lazurus and the Season Finale. However in the series there are some poor episodes such as Space and The Jersey Devil which I personally did not enjoy although my mate enjoyed the later one, so really its a matter of opinion!
*The Extras*
11 minute documentary on Season 1, is very interesting, if a little short.
Chris Carter talks about 12 of his fav episodes from the series.
11 ads from the Fox TV channel (crap!)
more tv ads (more crap!)
DVD-ROM game (quality!)
Deleted scenes from Pilot
Special Effect Clip from Fallen Angel.
*Repackaged Repriced*
This boxset is the new release of the X Files boxsets. It comes packaged in like a double dvd box that is one box if you get what I am saying. This is called M-Lock packaging. Around this is a cardboard exterior box. This packaging is cooler than the other packaging in my opinion because it takes up less space on my shelf although a couple of my mates don't like it for some stupid reason (they like each disc in seperated dvd case or something). Well I can say to them I would rather buy the M-Lock packaging version for £26.99 on Play.com or choicesdirect.com rather than £59.99 on the original dvd release.
