"Provenance" and "Providence", into a pseudo-movie. Again, the results fall way below the series average as the long-dead alien conspiracy business is flogged, with a lot of running around and ominous rumbling still not adding up to anything like an actual story. FBI agent Neal McDonaugh (ofMinority Report) inexplicably survives a flaming motorcycle crash, leaving behind brass rubbings taken from an alien spaceship, then shows up and tries to murder Scully's psychokinetic baby, who is promptly kidnapped by a UFO cult.In Part 2, Scully (Gillian Anderson) and Reyes (Annabeth Gish) fend off enemies and friends within the bureau as they track down the cultists, who are having trouble with a spaceship they've dug up, and a typical pointless climax has things happen without the characters doing anything to contribute. Even at this late, post-Duchovny stage in the game,The X-Fileshas turned out some fine stand-alone episodes, but these dreary wallowings go a long way towards explaining why only diehards are still watching. After the child says "I made this" at the end of the credits, it's becoming very hard not to shout "well, clean it up then".On the DVD:The X-Files: Providence, as withNothing Important Happened Today, arrives in a great-looking anamorphic widescreen transfer. There are two slight promotional "featurettes"--three-minute clips/talking heads promos focusing on the episode "Providence" and actor Cary Elwes' character. --Kim Newman

Production Year: 2007 - Science Fiction - Director: Francis Lawrence - Original Language: English - Classification: 15 years and over - Starring: Alice Braga, Charlie Tahan, Dash Mihok, Will Smith, Salli Richardson, Willow Smith
Advantages: Good crime thriller, plenty of suspense! Disadvantages: Not really an X-File film, poor ending!
The X-Files: I Want to Believe is the second movie to be created following the hit tv show The X-Files, made famous back in the 90's. The movie was released this year, and is directed by Chris Carter, who also directed and produced the original series. The movie stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, and also sees Billy Connolly, Amanda Peet and rap & tv-star Exzibit appear.
When an FBI agent goes missing, the only leads the FBI have come from a disgraced priest, Father Joseph Grissman (Billy Connolly), trying to redeem himself from his sinful past, who claims to have psychic visions of the occurrence. Baffled, and with no other leads to go on, the FBI turn to ex-agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson). Mulder, who is wanted by the FBI on other charges, agrees to help when all charges against him are ...

Collectors Edition Series 3 DVD Boxset - Thanks Mum!
This has got to be one of my more appreciated Christmas presents this year. (Oh, apart from the fasionable Grandad slippers and endless supply of shower gel etc etc...)
Now, I'm not going to start explaining what the XFiles are, as I'm sure you all know. When, somewhere back in 2000 I bought the first boxset, I asked when the next one would be released, and was told that they have no intentions of releasing any further boxsets, but here I sit with the third one.
This boxset is an absolute must for any true fans of the show, as it includes every single episode from the third season of the XFiles.
The price certianly does vary, as I have seen it sell for as much as £89.99 in the over-prices music store, but also have seen it prices as little as £65.99 in my preferred local ...
Advantages: Every episode of the first series, great extras Disadvantages: Picture sometimes gets dodgy
The X-files season 1 DVD box set comes with seven disks, there are 24 episodes with each of six disks containing four, and the final seventh disk is left for the extras. The whole package comes in a cardboard box; with an outer sleeve that holds the inside box that fold out to hold all seven disks. One side of the fold out holds the disks and a booklet while the other side is decorated with stills and quotes from the series. While the box is extremely stylish and cool it WILL get damaged and torn through time and is already starting to show the effects of living on my active DVD shelves. The booklet also holds quotes and information about each episode in this series, like who wrote each one and directed it. At the back of the booklet it then lists each episode from each series in order highlighting the ones that were released on special ...
