The World is not Enough, the last Bond film to feature Desmond Llewlyn who played Q in a total of 17 James Bond films.
Pierce Brosnan is back and co-starring with Full Monty and Trainspotting actor Robert Carlyle who plays Victor "Renard" Zokas. The Bond girls are the lovely Denise Richards (Charlie Sheen's wife) who plays Dr. Christmas Jones and Sophie Marceau plays the seductive and mysterious Elektra King.
Basically when British oil tycoon Sir Robert King is blown up at MI6, 007 is sent to protect the heir and daughter of the deceased Elektra King. However a terrorist with an unusual characteristic (a bullet lodged in his brain making him immune to all forms of pain) launches a scheme to seize control of the global oil supply, leaving 007 little time to once again save the world from international catastrophe.
Despite the initial plot and the opening sequence with the boat chase on the Thames, I still felt that Brosnan still hadn't delivered anywhere near the same standard that Goldeneye was. Denise Richards character did begin to get on my nerves after a little while, but Robert Carlyle was a very good villain.
Dispite the film being only slightly above mediocre, the DVD itself is where this product begins to shine. The film has been Digital Remastered, and even though it only being released 7 years ago, the quality has made a considerable jump since it's last release. It also includes more features that I could ever have imagined, Deleted Scenes, Alternate Angles, Commentaries, Original Featurettes, Music Videos, and many many more.
Overall, I'd say definitely buy this without fail if you're a bond fan. But if you're not really into the famous Agent, then you might consider giving this a miss.
