The nineteenth Bond film and the third featuring Piece Brosnan, The World Is Not Enough delivers all the heart pounding action, incredible visual effects, and as for the DVD version, amazing sound that all James Bond fans have come to expect. I have only one gripe with this film: James Bond in a BMW? It doesn'twork, I'm sorry. It has to be Aston Martin.
The film provides nothing groundbreaking as far as the Bond films are concerned, but certainly shows Brosnan as a classy actor. One important difference in character that is evident throughout is the aspect of lonliness. It obvious from watching this film what kind of life Bond leads, and the difficult challenges that face him on a daily basis. This has not been so obvious in previous Bond outings, but is also used to great effect in Casino Royale.
The story is classic Bond: eveil villian threatens to take over the world and only James Bond stands in the way of the villian and world domination/destruction. The bad guy this time is an odd character called Renard. Renard makes this film, with his odd characteristics and qwerky features he is fascinating to watch. What makes him so interesting is that he has bullet wedged in his brain which is slowly killing him. For Renard as much as Bond, the whole film is a race against time. Also, the bullet make his unable to feel pain, making a formidable adversary for Bond.
The plot in this nineteenth installment involves Renard stealing a nuclear submarine in order to gain control over the worlds oil supplies. Bond is assigned as a bodyguard to Elektra King, the daugther of a brilliant millionaire petrol lord who was killed trying to foil Renards schemes. Bond sets out to take down Renard, taking part in some spectacular stunts along the way. Of these, the best has to be the fantastic ski chase, with Bond being attacked from behind, the side and even from above.
Overall, this film would be perfect to rent on a Saturday night in with your mates. It's not the best Bond film, but it is certainly good enough to please all Bond fans. A good effort all round. As for the DVD version, it is completely compatible with surround sound to give the ultimate audio Bond experience. There are also plenty of behind-the-scenes extras and 'making of' mini movies on the DVD to keep those hard-core fans entertained for another hour or so.

Advantages: A solid film with a fantastic supporting host of extras. Disadvantages: Bond theme running a little thin with so many competitors vying for the spy theme.
Advantages: The opening sequence with the boat chase on the Thames Disadvantages: Denise Richards character did begin to get on my nerves after a little while
Advantages: edtion gets better and better, great locations and some of the best stunt work you will ever see Disadvantages: more of Denise Richards would be nice!
