If you are a Bond fan, this DVD is worth buying for the extras alone. There are a couple of documentaries on there, and a touching tribute to Desmond Llewellyn (Q). There is also the music video for Garbage's title song.
The film itself is not your standard Bond blockbuster, they've obviously tried hard to develop the characters a bit more. Judi Dench in particular is given a much greater part than usual, which is deserved, since she is a fine actress. Pierce Brosnan now fits the Bond role perfectly, he obviously feels comfortable with it now.. Robert Carlyle is excellent as Renard, the bad guy who feels no pain due to a bullet lodged in his brain.
The film starts with perhaps the best of the Bond pre-title sequences, the boat chase up the river Thames. There are numerous other stunts throughout, but these are never to the detriment of the plot. The film shows up well on DVD, and is a must buy for any Bond fan.
