The World at War Series is refreshingly unique, with the strong powerful voice of Laurence Olivier as Narrator, it offers an insight into both sides of the war, and best of all, alot of the key witnesses or participants of major events were still alive at the time of this documentary so a phenominal amount of commentary was available making this one of the most coverted History sets ever.
It even goes onto describe the end of the War in Germany, known as Nemesis in the series, it shows not only the human suffering that allied nations faced, but also the civilian and military suffering on the side of the axis.
It covers everything, such as the Holocaust, the Blitz, The U boats, the Burma Campaign, the American Advance in the Pacific, and so forth.

If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, which can be done by accessing "edit review" above the review and changing the drop down menu under the "Which format are you reviewing?" question at the bottom, please let me know and I'll re-rate.
