quiet practice in Montreal, with a wife from hell and a mother-in-law to match. Oz's world turns upside-down when he meets his new next-door-neighbour, Jimmy Jones, or, as he is affectionately known in his old Chicago gangster circle, Jimmy the Tulip (Bruce Willis).Jimmy the Tulip was a hit man for the Gogo Gang. He ratted out mob boss Charlie Gogolack and is now hoping for a quiet life in suburban Montreal. However, Oz's scheming wife (Rosanna Arquette) puts an end to that by making Oz fly to Chicago to turn Jimmy into the mob and collect a finder's fee. Oz agrees to her plan, hoping that perhaps the money will allow him to pay off her debts and be rid of her.In Chicago, Oz is surprised to find Frankie Figs (Michael Clarke Duncan) waiting for him at his hotel. Frankie works for Jojo Gogolck, who has put out a contract for Jimmy. Jojo is holding Jimmy's wife, Cynthia as a sort of hostage hoping she will lead them to Jimmy. One look at Oz and Cynthia forgets all about Jimmy... it's love at first sight! Meanwhile back in Montreal, Oz's dear wife Sophie has not only told Jimmy the Tulip where Oz has gone and why, she has also hired a hit man to get Oz when he returns to Montreal. In a hysterical finale, guy shoots guy, a new identity and a new girlfriend is obtained, but does everyone live happily ever after?

end you'll find it a modestly entertaining yarn. But forbearance is necessary because, truthfully, the first half-hour of the movie promises a train wreck of epic proportions.Matthew Perry stars as a mild-mannered Montreal dentist, married to a French-Canadian shrew (Rosanna Arquette), whose new next-door neighbour (Bruce Willis) just happens to be a notorious mob hit-man out on parole. The wife, catching the whiff of easy money and probably just hoping to put hubby in harms way, orders her hen pecked spouse to rat out the gunman to his former employers, who have many compelling reasons to want him dead. Needless to say, complications--and plenty of them--ensue.Perry is serviceably harried as the beleaguered Everyman whom, as nice as everyone around him agrees that he is the person, just about everyone, wants to kill. Willis, much as he did inThe Sixth Sense, gets better mileage out of not trying so hard; his irksome smirk is almost held in check. Amanda Peet has some funny scenes as a hit-man groupieit's when her true role in the proceedings is revealed that the film finally kicks into comic gear. Michael Clarke Duncan is fine as yet another hit man to cross Perry's path; however, Arquette seems to be in a contest with Kevin Pollak (playing a mob boss) to see who can uncork both the most ludicrous accent and the most obvious performance. That kind of unevenness ensures that the pleasures that do exist withinThe Whole Nine Yardsremain fairly minor. --David Kronke, Amazon.com

**Story/Plot**
The story is based in a peaceful Montreal suburb. Oz pulls up home in he’s Volkswagen Beetle seeing someone moving in next door, he pays a visit only to discover it’s Jimmy ‘the Tulip’ but Jimmy introduces him self as Jimmy Jones, it’s only when Oz sees a tattoo of a red Tulip on Jimmy’s arm that’s when it hit’s home to Oz ‘Flash Backs’ of news paper articles with Jimmy being on the front page.
Oz takes an immediate liking to his neighbor and they become friends even though he has recognized Jimmy as being a hit man in hiding. If Oz and Jimmy want to live then they have to stick together.
Jimmy is a hit man who is hiding out from Janni who is the leader of the notorious Gogolak Gang in Chicago a man who has been headline news for ratting out the leader of the gang Janni.
Jimmy's beautiful, estranged wife Cynthia finds her self on a hit list too, but she is unable to divorce Jimmy, due to Jimmy having morals. What? A hit man with morals. Jimmy took he’s wedding vows and meant them ‘Till death do us Part’. Jimmy hates mayonnaise, and every time he orders a hamburger it comes with mayonnaise.
Jimmy’s says to the waiter: I'm gonna keep the soda and the fries but I'm gonna send this back. If you bring me another hamburger with mayonnaise on it, I'll cut off your legs, set fire to your house and then watch you try to crawl out of your burning house with bloody stumps.
Oz is just your average nice guy who happens to be a dentist. Oz is married to Sophie who is a French Canadian is doing her best to find a hit man to kill her husband ‘Oz’ so she can cash in he’s life insurance, in other words she’s a money grabbing bitch.
When Sophie finds out that there’s a reward on Jimmy’s head, being One million dollars. She plans on getting that money, by sending poor Oz to do the dirty work. Oz gets caught up with Frankie Figs who draws Oz into the Gogolak Gang inner circle. Frankie who is also a hit man and works for Janni Gogolak, but is friends with Jimmy and knows not to cross Jimmy Frankie figs true loyalties lie with Jimmy.
Jill who is Oz’s dental assistant is keeping a big secret from Oz, and she can not believe Oz is married to a horrible woman; she even tries to get Oz to leave her.
Oz has finally found something worth living for. To save Cynthia's life, Oz embarks on a high risk gamble to outsmart Jimmy the Tulip and Janni Gogolak and to keep Cynthia alive without having to kill anyone in the process. Jimmy, meanwhile, has a new name for his hit list.
Sophie hired not one but three, hit man to kill her husband Oz, with each one failing to do the job. Oz is just such a nice guy. The second hit man she offered $10,000 so she got turned down, the third hit man was for $20,000 she got it down to $12,500 by sleeping with him.
**Overall**
It’s an intriguing comedy that's full of twists and turns, and surprises. There are some great one liner’s and a good few scenes where you will be in stitches. They have done well combining a Comedy/Action film, the actors where great and they did pick the right bunch to play the cast.
I really did enjoy this film and have watched it time and time again. It’s not ‘Friends’ funny nor is it action packed. The action really takes place towards to end of the film. You get to see Amanda Peet naked!
The ending was a great twist as you wouldn’t have a clue what was going to happen. This film is rated 15 in which I have to agree but I think it could get away with being rated say 13; there are scenes of naked Amanda’s top half, and scenes of killing and gun’s. I will add one thing that it does come in very handy that Oz is a dentist.
**Some one liners/Quotes:**
Oz ~ ‘You’ve killed 17 men and you think my wife’s not a good person?’
Frankie Figs: I can't think of nothing finer than a fine naked woman holding a gun
Nicholas "Oz" Oseransky: Damn it, Jimmy. What the hell did you have to move next door to me? Jimmy "The Tulip" Tudeski: Oz, do you know what kind of soil they have in the back yard? I've been here two days and I've got these tiny little tomato plants... Nicholas "Oz" Oseransky: Oh my God.
Jimmy 'The Tulip' Tudeski: You're a dentist? Nicholas "Oz" Oseransky: Afraid so. Jimmy 'The Tulip' Tudeski: You suicidal? Nicholas "Oz" Oseransky: Why would you say that? Jimmy 'The Tulip' Tudeski: Well, I read that dentists are prone to suicide. Nicholas "Oz" Oseransky: Look, Jimmy, I may hate my life, but I certainly don't want to die.
**The Main Cast** Jimmy ‘The Tulip’ Tudeski ~ Bruce Willis Cynthia Tudeski ~ Natasha Henstridge Nicholas ‘Oz’ Oseransky ~ Matthew Perry Sophie Oseransky ~ Rosanna Arquette Franklin 'Frankie Figs' Figueroa ~ Michael Clarke Duncan Jill St. Claire ~ Amanda Peet Janni Pytor Gogolak ~ Kevin Pollak

...in a starring role and the words 'black comedy' having been firmly attached to it by critics. Having seen the rather lightweight and hugely unimpressive major movie debuts of the other cast members of Friends and seen more than a few black comedies which completely lost me and everyone else in the movie theatre I probably would have skipped on past this were it not for the presence of Bruce Willis. I have yet to see him in a bad movie(well ok, Unbreakable ... ...to turn in Tudeski to the Hungarian mafia in exchange for a cash reward. In true black comedy style, this is just the foundation for a number of plot twists and turns as it all becomes rather complicated and Oz's life just gets more convoluted. Sure, it doesn't sound up to much and you'll probably be inwardly groaing at yet another gangster realted movie, but its much cleverer than that. There are some great one liners in this movie and some excellent, ...

...a nice jazzy version of the Gershwin tune 'They All Laughed'. A good end to a comedy film you would think but this is one 'comedy' that really isn't funny at all. You can see the studio executives at Warner Bros when they got their hands on this script. "You know who's funny? That Chandler guy from Friends who flaps his arms about a lot, he'd be great in this movie!" "Hey and what about Bruce Willis, both of them in the same movie is box office gold!" ... ...and pat each other on the back before deciding where they should go for lunch. The film sees Matthew Perry as Nick, a struggling dentist who is married to a french canadian (Rosanna Arquette). She's a woman who couldn't care less and of course this makes Nick anervous and unstable guy. His demeanour isn't helped by the fact that renowed hitman Jimmy 'The Tulip' Tudeski (Willis) move in next door. Soon Nick finds himself involved in a farce style ...

Advantages: Willis and Perry Disadvantages: A pretty blatant lift of Analyze This
All hail Matthew and Bruce, the new age comedy duo, the latest inheritors to the mantle worn by Laurel and Hardy way back when, and they certainly give a damn good attempt at tickling your humour buds in this American buddy movie - which clearly owes more than a smidge to Analyze This.
You get Matthew Perry subbing as a dentist in place of Billy Crystal's psychiatrist and Bruce Willis as Jimmy The Tulip over the more substantial Bob De Niro, but ... ...he has ever been.
The premise is this. Perry plays Nichols Oz Oseransky who lives with his wife and her mother in Montreal, Canada and is a successful dentist, but his marriage is a sham and they both hate each other, as he confides in his assistant at the surgery. However, they're both too boring to do anything about it until Willis as Jimmy the Tulip Tudeski moves in next door to them and changes everything. He’s on the run from a Chicago hood.

Advantages: Funny, light-hearted, good actors and characters. Disadvantages: Fairly predictable.
...mass murderer living next door, the wife sends Oz to Chicago to dish the dirt on Tudeski. By doing this Oz will get cash, and a divorce from his wife. Not so bad when you think about it.
Unfortunately, things don’t go to plan. Surprised? No, I guess not, but anyway, Oz is forced into an alliance with Tudeski, but desperately needs to defend his new love, Tudeski’s wife.
I won’t tell you anymore of the story, because it will spoil ... ...like all good films should. The goodies survive and the baddies die, need I say more?
My favourite thing about this film is the humour. Oz is a normal, well – meaning man, not used to plots and schemes, especially ones involving death. This is the main focus point of the humour, but there are other things. For example, Oz runs into a glass door, and although this may not sound funny, in the situation I couldn’t help laughing. I suggest ...

DVD Description
A mob comedy in which ex-mobster Jimmy "The Tulip" Tudeski (Willis), who's now living in Canada as part of the Witness Protection Program, becomes a target yet again, much to his dismay. All of this is because of the couple next door--more specifically, his neighbor's greedy wife, Sophie (Arquette). When Sophie learns of Jimmy's true identity, she sends her befuddled husband Nicholas (Perry) to Chicago to track down the mob and inform them of Jimmy's whereabouts, expecting a fruitful reward in return. From there, events spiral even further out of control.
