The Wedding Singer
The film itself….
This Review is on the 1998 film The Wedding Singer starring Adam Sandler & Drew Barrymore.
Set in the 1980’s Adam Sandler plays Robbie Hart, a happy in love wedding singer who believes his life is perfect. A job he loves and a woman he loves until…. Everything he loves begins to fade away slowly. The love of his life Linda, his fiancé, ditches him on their wedding day leaving only a note to tell him it over… Slowly he falls into depression where then his job as a wedding singer then suffers.
But during one of his weddings jobs he meets Julia played by drew Barry more, and she befriends him, she makes him realize his life isn’t so bad.
Julia is engaged and to Robbie’s dismay, he realizes that her fiancé is not then man she thinks he is, he’s running after other women every other night behind her back.
Soon Robbie falls for Julia and Julia falls for Robbie, but it could be too late…. She’s still marring her “loving” fiancé…
The casing of the DVD
If you are searching for this DVD in the shops, then the front cover has a picture of Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. With bright red text saying “The Wedding Singer” with an age 12 rating. The bottom of the casing says “ He’s gonna party like its 1985”
My Opinion
I love these 2 working together – Adam Sandler & Drew Barrymore. They fit together like a puzzle. They have excellent qualities. Adam sandler is so funny in this film, he plays this part brilliant, and he looks the part with his long curly black hair. He dresses with all these 1980’s style. If you love a character and feel for them then it means there a great actor. And you can really feel for this character in this movie after he’s been dumped. And is depressed, aswell as being happy for him when things start to pick up. Drew Barrymore was brilliant. She plays the friendly gorgeous girl next door type girl. Excellent personality, which makes you love that character. Between the 2 of them you will laugh your head off. I could watch this film over and over again. I think its class. Very funny and very entertaining for the family or by yourself.
Highly recommended by me… and I watch alota films..

Another fine review there on a marvellous film; Sandler and Barrymore had terrific chemistry here, and I thought their second film together (50 FIRST DATES) was even better!!! Chris x

Out of all of Sandler's comedies this has to be one of my favourites. Whether that is down to the 80s feel of the film or that his routine still feels fresh I am not sure, but it is very enjoyable.

Advantages: Great music you can sing along too (if your old enough) Funny script with lots of romance thrown in too. Disadvantages: Well if you didn't like the 80's music, then this may not appeal to you. You might be shocked at the dress sense, lol.
