The Wedding Planner / Down With Love / One Fine Day DVD

...This is a film with Jennifer Lopez, who I am not a big fan of but as I was given this DVD as a present I had to give It a try and I was not disappointed, ok it is not the best film that I have ever seen but it had humour and was a romance too which made it all the better. Jennifer Lopez plays Mary a Wedding Planner, although when it comes to her own wedding she is very skeptical. Mary one day has an accident when walking home from work as her heel gets stuck in a drain and there is a car and wheelie bin heading to her. When the lovely Steve played by Matthew McConaughey saves her. Mary is light headed and is taken to the hospital where Steve works to have her checked out. Where Mary asks Steve out later that evening to watch a movie in the park, he accepts and that is where she starts to falls in love with him. The following day... Read review

Advantages: Matthew McConaughey is easy on the eye.

...Being a fan of fluffy romantic comedies, I was hoping that The Wedding Planner would be reasonably good. It sounded promising enough, with the DVD proclaiming the film as a 'modern-day fairytale', and describing the chemistry between the two main stars, Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey as 'sizzling'. The story begins with Mary Fiore, played by Jennifer Lopez, a half-Italian wedding planner, who's life is meticulously mapped out to the very last detail. A workaholic, she throws herself in her career, leaving little time for relationships. Determined to prove her worth to her boss, Mary takes on a difficult account, on the condition that if the wedding is successful, her boss will give her a share in the company. Advantages: good romance
Disadvantages: a little predictable

...A romantic comedy with that little extra touch, the wedding planner stars the talented Jennifer lopez as mary, a wedding planner, hence the title. So wrapped up in her job and planning love for everyone else she still herslf hasn't met Mr. Right (does he exist?). Well until the gorgeous Steve saves her from an accident and she believes he's the one!But Yes you've guessed it she later realises that he has a fiance and she's actually planning his wedding to someone else.... This is a thoroughly enjoyable film suitable to see with friends or on a date. While some of the story is a little predicatable the performances of the actors makes up for it and a fiarly good sound track to boot... Read review
