Advantages: Hillarious film with Sandler and Barrymore. Disadvantages: None!
This was the first Adam Sandler film I ever watched when it first came out in 1998, I remember my sister having the film on VHS and we used to sit there watching it every time I stayed at her house. And ever since its been my all time favourite film.
The Plot:
The film is about a wedding singer Robbie, who is getting married himself, until his fiance breaks up with him on their wedding day, and dumps him at the alter...or just leaves him standing there more like. Robbie slumps into a deep depression, and even ends up giving up on his job, which he used to love.
Meanwhile, Julie, who Robbie met briefly before his failed wedding. Is engaged to Glenn, is ecstatic when he finally sets a date, and she gets to planning her wedding.
Julie and Robbie's friendship blossoms and Robbie slowly comes back around to weddings ...
Advantages: The chemistry between the charecters comes across very well. Disadvantages: Quite predictable.
The Wedding Date is a brilliant romantic comedy about Kat Ellis who travels home from New York to London for her sister Amys wedding. Kat decides she cant face going to the wedding alone and with her ex fiance being there it gives her an addded reason to take a partner.
The film starts with a very worried overly anxious Kat trying to get hold of her date who is a very desirable male escort Nick. They finally meet on the plane to London to begin their venture to fool her friends and family into beliving they are madly in love. During their stay Kat and Nick stay in her old room at her parents house while joining in with all the events Amy and Ed have planned for the wedding party. Kat has a turbulet ride in London with loads of ups and downs where she eventually finds herself and figures out what is the best path for her to take her ...
Advantages: Funny and lighthearted , great characters Disadvantages: None
In my opinion The Wedding Singer is a fabulous feel good film. I first watched this film back in 1999 when I purchased it on VHS. It was one of my favourite films and more recently I purchased this on DVD so I could watch it again.
The story of The Wedding Singer is based around two main characters. One of these is Robbie Hart who is the best wedding singer in town. He is happy, uplifting and always manages to save the day at weddings even when the best man makes a bit of an incriminating speech or when a teenager has a bit too much wedding champagne. Julia has just moved to the town to be closer to her fiancé Glen. She has got herself a job as a waitress with her cousin Holly at the hall where all the towns' weddings, birthdays etc get put on. This is the same hall where Robbie works. Julia and Robbie soon become friends but Robbie ...
When a bachelor announces to his friends that he's getting married, his friends use it as an opportunity to meet new 'talent'.

It's the weekend of Scott's wedding and his best friends, Jay, Dewey and Phil, who happen to be his "groomsmen", make a wager. The stakes include a 1959 mint convertible Thunderbird and the hand of Jay's younger sister. The bet is that Jay, before he gets married, must have his last pure one-night-stand and Dewey must remain celibate for three days. Featuring a bevvy of sexy bridesmaids called Tanya, Brooke and Melodie, THE WEDDING BET is a comedy where teenage buddies decide that anything goes before they walk down the isle (even minutes before they walk down the isle) but will they be able to face the inevitable consequences
