DVD Description
Boasting a script by Eric Ambler and Peter Ustinov, THE WAY AHEAD is a rousing version of a familiar WWII genre: An officer must hammer a small group of disparate characters into an effective fighting unit as quickly as possible. David Niven stars as tough-minded Lieutenant Jim Perry, putting a reluctant and sometimes comically inept group of raw recruits through fantastically realistic basic-training exercises. When the troops hit the beaches of North Africa, they finally begin to understand the purpose behind their training.

Review: "...To be admired and recommended for its direction, its writing and its playing..." (Dilys Powell) (Sunday Times, )
Advantages: Funny Disadvantages: Is there any to be seen?
...This film has to be one of the best Disney videos ever. The graphics and quality are wayahead of their time and with the interesting story line the film is an obvious hit. Disney has managed to produce a film that the whole family will enjoy and have funny jokes and characters throughout. During the film Buzz lightyear is seen to be one of the most funny characters in a film, his strange behaviour and jokes will make absolutely anyone laugh as he seems to be a bit over the top. This film is a must for parents who need time to relax and want the kids to watch something that they will enjoy....

Advantages: action packed Disadvantages: needs part 2
...I decided to buy it on DVD, when i saw cage and bean staring in it as I am quite a big fan of Nicholas Cage and of sean bean.
with action and mayhem on offer it looked like the one for me.
Cage portrays a perfect roll in my oppinion along side bean they both follow the hunt for a treasure that has been lost for an etternety with cage staying one step ahead of bean most of the way.I once again am left with that overwhelming sense that i realy enjoyed this movie and would recomend this film suitable for all the family from 8+ enjoyable and entertaining all the way
cage and bean fight all the way with twists and turns that keep you watching.
hope you enjoy...

Advantages: intense detail, colour and quality viewing Disadvantages: educational factoids to trekkie fans
...This saga in the next generation series is one of hero worship against surviving obstacles. The world 'as we know it' was not yet
formed for the next generation crew and that way of life is of cross-
purposes. The creator of warp drive is not a saint or walks on water;
but he has warts an all feelings and attitudes which are hard to take
by our intrepid crew. He does not fit the script; nor does the aliens
that are coming to see them. It is a world of intense frontier exploration where characters often jump ahead by guess and not
by experiance. It is a fun but logical way in which to further the
lives of this world. Magic...intense....
