The Warriors, set in the late 70's sees unity of gangs who outnumber the police 5 to 1 in New York City. They plan on running the town together as one due to their enormous size, however, the leader in charge of this is murdered, and the Warriors get blamed. They lose their leader and so tension is brought between the second in command and a hard nut soldier ( well he thinks he's hard )
The warriors must go on the run within the urban jungle, fighting to save their lives and their gang members. They learn the meaning of true loyalty.

My View

The storyline to the film is great, it depicts the meaning of gang warfare and consolidates this action very cleverly into one night.
I was pretty amazed with the actors and with them getting their feelings across to the audience; sometimes I actually felt as if I was in the film, the action seemed so realistic. Actors performed very well in the film and each had there own characteristics in their individual way but came together as one, as the warriors.
The film contains tension between the Warrior members and between different gangs. Even the extras play an important role and do a good job if they are in the spotlight for even a minute.
The music to film really stands out, watching this film in the 21st century really makes it one of kind, the music is from the late 70's ( I think ) and brings the 70's to life. The music also fits into the film in the different areas, such as at the beginning of the film, it has that kind of 70's feel, and when you hear it, you think… ooo an 70's film…
The film also contains plenty of action in the way of fighting, for all you fight lovers, this film is a must buy.

Flaws.

I did notice a couple of flaws in that, in one fight scene, acting got a bit dull, the Warriors are hunted down, outnumbered and surrounded yet the gang with more numbers just stands around while their mates get beaten up one by one.
Second on another fight scene, once again the Warriors are outnumbered yet the other gang just stand there and don't do anything, maybe its just their gangs personality but I don't know…

Overall this film is great, I would recommend this film to potential buyers and even if you weren't interested in the film before, I think its still worth checking out.

I bought this version for just £6 at HMV, i bet you can get it cheaper if you look around though
