Although the special effects may not seem that impressive by todays standards, when you consider that this film is over 20 years old, it is quite mind-blowing. With stunning artwork and animation by Gerald Scarfe, amazing sets and special effects, and of course a killer soundtrack, this film is one you can watch again and again.
If you have seen this film it will not surprise you that when Syd Barrett was kicked out of Pink Floyd for his unpredictable behaviour, it wasn't long before he went insane.

Advantages: Great graphics, brilliant plot, loveable characters! Disadvantages: none
WALL-E the adorable little robot embarks on a hilarious and brand new adventure to get back his new found love EVE. I first saw this film at the cinema with my boyfriend. Suprisingly he was the one who wanted to see it. I have to say right from the very beginning it was thoroughly enjoyable. Even neither of us were kids it was great. I got so engrossed in the film I stopped eating popcorn! I bought it him on DVD for his birthday and he loved it. Watching it again was not even very different from the first time we saw it. Still enjoyable and great fun. It was such a new plot too. With WALL-E the only robot left on earth with a bug as his friend. Humans are living on a spaceship as the earth is too full of litter no plants grow. WALL-E finds a new shoot from a green plant and stores it in a boot in his little house. When Eve comes a brand ...

Advantages: Great for all ages Disadvantages: Poor packaging
I was lucky enough to get Wall-E on DVD for my birthday. I'm reliably informed by my sister that they are selling it in HMV for around £17, and I noticed a lot of eager parents braving the queues for it around Christmas time. I'm not surprised because it's a fantastic, definitely reminiscient of the old Disney magic. Despite the fact that it's 3D animation whereas I prefer the old 2D cartoon Disney films, this doesn't disappoint.
It tells the story of a robot, Wall-E, whose job is to clean up the Earth by stacking all the tons of accumulated rubbish over the years, whilst all the world's humans cruise through space growing ever fatter as they use their legs even less. Wall-E is a very cute robot, and does silly things like wear a bra across his eyes and throw away a ring to keep the box, which children will find amusing too ...

Advantages: Laughing Disadvantages: If u don't like to laugh
extras on the DVD:
Burn-E, a new short movie. This is a short movie about one of the maintenance robots on the spaceship in the actual movie. The robot gets locked out of the spaceship. Nice little movie to watch but not as funny as the actual movie.
Presto, short movie. This short movie is about a rabbit and the magician. Also nice, but has nothing to do with the movie itself.
- Non used scenes
- Audiocommentary of Andrew Stanton
- Animation sound design: Worlds build with sounds
My opinion:
I found it difficult to write about a movie without ruin the whole story, but wall-e is really a great movie to watch. I was first very skeptical about this movie, because how can a non talking robot be funny? But I was wrong. For me Wall-e is in the same category as Finding Nemo. You will laugh about the stupid movements ...

DVD Description
Loosely based on the life story of Syd Barrett, Pink Floyd's original front man (who was kicked out of the band for his bizarre and disturbing behavior only to go insane shortly thereafter), PINK FLOYD: THE WALL stars Bob Geldof as Pink, a mentally damaged man who has gone from a hopeful child artist to a burned-out rock star drifting away from reality. As Pink festers in his hotel room, elements of his abusive childhood come back to haunt him until he begins to descend into absolute madness. Director Alan Parker's intense and fully realized film interpretation of the English band's classic album, THE WALL melds whimsical fantasy with dark Shakespearean drama. The film makes innovative use of sets, costumes, and special effects to create a unique surrealistic strangeness worthy of Luis Bunuel and Salvador Dali's UN CHIEN ANDALOU. Both disturbing and bedazzling, PINK FLOYD: THE WALL is a must-see film for any music lover.
