...'s a weakness in his acting of the part he's playing. In the sex scenes he is basically just a moaning animal and voyeur, a part he does portray quite well. An adequate performance.

The music in the movie is very sparse being restricted to a haunting melody on the DVD menu selection, the trailer and the end credits which attribute some of the music composition to none other than Chuck Berry.

DVD Description
THE VOYEUR features Italian director Tinto Brass is at his erotic best. The sensual tale follows the lives of Dodo, a young university professor; Sylvia, his beautiful but unfaithful wife; Alberto, Dodo's roguish father; and Fausta, Alberto's uninhibited maid. As the film's voyeur, Dodo watches the bedroom affairs of his father and his maid and also features Dodo's own sexual encounters with his oft-absent wife. This classy Brass production features beautiful settings and excellent cinematography.
...This is my favourite Hitchcock film, rated by most as one of his four masterpieces - we are dealing here with the height of suspense liberally dosed with Hitch's ideas about voyeurism with as usual various other fascinating undercurrents which you tend to pick up with successive viewings. It says alot about the director when it's set in one single apartment yet he keeps you on a knife edge from the beginning to end. There's no greater moment in cinema than when the brillian James Stewart first realises he's been rumbled by the murderer. I challenge your hackles not to rise. Beautifully acted, directed and shot with of course another magnificent score by Bernard Hermann. Amazing....

Advantages: gripping classic stuff! Disadvantages: u may wet your pants!!!!
...If I was asked to name my all time favourite film this without doubt would be it! Forget special effects and method acting this is all about direction direction direction! Who else but Hitchcock could work with a single low budget set and make one of the most gripping, mind-blowingly exciting films ever!
Hitchcock was fascinated by the concept of the camera as voyeur and in this film he drags his audience into his fantasy forcing you onto a rollar coaster ride of thrills and chills! No other film has ever scared me so much, you are absolutely powerless to do anything but watch! Like James Stewart's character we are immobilised and confined to one room, like him we view through the lens, together we stumble into the role of voyeur.
Hitchcock controls everything we see, he forces us out of passivity by feeding us a restricted diet...
