Joe also undefeated, with a much longer reign, the Wbo Champion for so long, was considered past his prime, and wrtten off as never facing stiff opposition since defeating Chris Eubank to claim the title years ago.
So the scene was set, Lacy the undefeated IBF champ, and Calzaghe the WBO champ, Somebodys record was about to get a blemish.
What followed from round one, was possibly the best boxing match and most one sided ... ...brilliance. Joe Calzaghe just took apart Lacy from the first bell, he slipped punches with ease, landed ferocious combinations of upto 20 punches time aftr time again, he showboated with style, and just kept up this til the final bell.
