The Unreal Story of Pro Wrestling (DVD)

Advantages: Great behind the scenes piece
Disadvantages: It'd have been nice to have a follow up on how they were doing later

...This is an independantly made documentary following the fortunes of Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW) run by Rick Bassman (who does several short pieces to camera about each of the wrestlers) and some of its workers at the time. Made shooting from October 2000 until May 2001 many of the UPW roster are featured but the director does eventually decide to focus on Christopher Daniels, Mikey Henderson, Jon Heidenreich and Drzan McBee. This is a good purchase for fans of WWE or TNA as a few of the wrestlers featured will eventually go on to be stars in those federations (in fact Rob Van Dam and Samoa Joe are both featured in the opening few minutes, you will also get to see John Cena as "The Prototype" at the start of his wrestling career). Advantages: Its only 84 minutes
Disadvantages: 84 minutes is still too long!

...can one be. It's classed as a horror film, but I think that's a bit of an exageration!! Casey was played by Odette Yustman (who also starred in Cloverfield) I really should have put the film back on the shelf for that alone. (I didn't rate Cloverfield at all). It was a very predictable film and ok it made me jump twice (but that could have been because the cat knocked something over in the kitchen when the boy first appeared!!). Most of the scenes were just to daft to be scary and as I say the story line didn't 'fit together' properly for me. The only question I have really, is why Gary why? After a great performance in the Dark Knight, this is certainly a come down. Advantages: Great schedule, great matches & performances, good extras.
Disadvantages: For wrestling fans only - WWE fans specifically.

...This DVD is one of my favourites for the quality, content and even the extras. If you aren?t a wrestling fan you may not have any interest or be able to comprehend any of the information, but I urge those who are willing to try. BREIF HISTORY WrestleMania was an experimental close-circuit television event (which was a good as pay-per-view at the time) the likes of which the world had never seen before. The very first WrestleMania was on March 31, 1985 in Madison Square Garden, New York and was a big gamble for World Wrestling Federation owner, Vince McMahon, one which if he won; he would have reaped the financial & business in a big way, but if he lost, would have quite likely out of business.
