...a cripple than dying in a fight."
We are then taken back to 1939 in the Japanese colony of Seoul. Where Choi Bae-dal first gets the ambition to be a fighter pilot for the Japanese army. Rush forward to 1942, where he has made his way to Japan. We soon see him tied up with other Koreans refusing to do the Kamikaze. Bae-dal is almost beaten to death by the General Kato. It then shoots to after the war, we see Bae-dal and his friend Chun-bae are left with nothing. He compares his courage to his old country (South Korea) as being left in ruins despite being liberated.
This soon leads up to where he meets his old master Beom-su who saves him from the Yakuza.

...This DVD is part of the History Channel World War II in Colour. It is the story (shown in colour) of how the people of the USA and Britain coped on the homefront, whilst the service personnel of both countries were away fighting against the Axis countries in what must have seemed like the four corners of the globe.
The Atlantic, the Pacific, Northern Europe, Southern Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the far East, Australasia, and so forth.
The first chapter of the DVD is entitled "making do."

Suddenly, America new what it was like to face a relentless enemy who seemed implacable and incapable...

...I found this DVD being sold very cheap (under £3 including delivery) on Amazon Marketplace and as I generally enjoy Chan's comedy adventures such as the Rush Hour and Shanghai movies and I heard there's a cameo in this movie featuring the Wilson brothers who I also am very much fond of, so I decided I had to get this and got it earlier in the week, I watched it last night and I wasn't too disappointed either. This is a good general entertainment family movie, it would make for a good early Sunday evening family movie on TV or something similar, I reckon!
This movie is very loosely based on the original book by Jules Verne and there have been many different reincarnations of this, from what im aware of, I remember as a child watching the cartoon version on, I think, CBBC, which featured a rather posh cat as Fogg, that was quite amusing...
