This fresh new tv programme provides a great insight to the life of a teenager in a world full of chaos and destruction. It made me think if this ever happened in our somewhat war riddlede world how the children from todays society would cope. I for one would think that there would be a lot more violence than is portrayed in this first series. It is for easy viewing and has addictive yet predictable plot lines.
With excellent make-up and costumes this programme is very visually attractive. In the this first series you see the children dicouver what life is now like after the deadly virus kills all of the adult population. The city is now in utter chaos as the kids now battle for control of their new world. It also provides excellent insight to the stuggle of setting up a new society of rules and order. Will everybody be willing to accept? The opening scene takes us to see the not yet existent "good guys" tribe mall rats characters. This which i thought was a great foundation for getting to know the characters as it does definatly show the journey that these children take to become adults. At first we see the two of the main characters who embark on a journey into the new world inside the city. At the same time we see Amber and Dal also mall rats escaping from the apocolyptic city into the country. But as they are about to leave the city for good and embark on there new life they spot the main bad tribe the "Locos" and have to take cover and hide, thus only to find a small girl playing in the middle of the street with the high danger of being captured. True to mall rats traditions they rescue this little girl who is so unaware of the danger surrounding her she almost gives away their position. After a close action filled scene the rest of the mallrats are then introduced and they set off to find shelter for the night, which in turn becomes there new home. However danger is never far away and the adventure has only just begun.
The tribe goes through many hard times including invasions of the mall which leads to the tribe being enslaved with dire consequences, adultry, weddings, a journey of a lifetime to save the human race.
The series provides many characters with backed up storys and backgrounds. There are also many extras within this series which isn't that relevant but again foundations are laid for the next series. Also theres is plenty of eye candy for the male and femal watchers. However with most australian child soap actors it can be a tad over acted to the point of hilarity.
Over all if you just want something easy, funny with good storylines with cliff hangers which will intrigue you to come back for more then i can certainly reccomend this is the programme for you..!
So one last question if you look into the future what do you see?
