The Tomorrow People. ==================
I remembered the earlier shows, probably from 1973 when it first aired through to 1979 when it initially ended. Watching it again on DVD was very, very enjoyable and to be honest quite refreshing. It was at the time an imaginative program and held a 70's quaintness.
Remembered nothing of the second incarnation of the show, 1992 - 1995 and again nothing of the third reinvented show from 2001 - 2007.
You follow some rare talented humans as they 'Break out' and change from normal humans to the next stage in human evolution. They have abilities such as telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation.
They have adventures inventing new technologies and fighting evil villains on this planet and from other galaxies. There are a few surprises along the way.
The 1973 - 1979 Series
Series 3. ======= Includes all four serials (thirteen episodes) from the third series: 'Secret Weapon', 'World's Away', 'A Man For Emily' and 'The Revenge Of Jedikiah'.
Secret Weapon: Part 1 The tomorrow people race to find a new tomorrow person before the baddies get their hands on him.
Secret Weapon: Part 2 They loose one of their own as they look for the break out boy.
Secret Weapon: Part 3 A new baddie, Masters, is plotting to capture the tomorrow people and enslave them.
Secret Weapon: Part 4 Tim, Chris and John attempt a daring rescue of their friends.
Worlds Away: Part 1 The Tomorrow People go off world to a planet of telepaths to help free them from tyranny.
Worlds Away: Part 2 The Telepath rebellion continues.
Worlds Away: Part 3 Stephen and Arkron try to save their friends from being bunt at the stake.
A Man for Emily: Part 1 A barmy tale of aliens visiting Earth and thinking Earths culture is all Cowboys and Indians.
A Man for Emily: Part 2 The Tomorrow people try to get the aliens off Earth before they cause more chaos.
A Man for Emily: Part 3 They rescue one of the aliens but he is far from grateful and tries to capture John.
The Revenge of Jedikiah: Part 1 Jedikiah is back and he wants revenge on the Tomorrow people.
The Revenge of Jedikiah: Part 2 The Ewe are tricked by Jedikiah and they start hunting down the Tomorrow people, things look bad.
The Revenge of Jedikiah: Part 3 Will the Tomorrow people survive for another series, well some of them will.
The show was a kids fun Sci-Fi show but later series tried to move to a more teenage and even an adult viewing audience, it never really worked.
The plots to each show are quite good and move along at a fair pace. The dialogue however at times is not too good and in places awful. The science would not stand up to scrutiny today but at the time it was fun stuff.
The actors all gave great performances and held the show together and the plot lines where also pretty good, if not great.
All in all worth a watch and worth it for the nostalgia alone. A fun Sci-Fi romp that you will smile at whilst watching.
Recommended.
