The Tomorrow People - Series 2 ==========================
I remembered the earlier shows, probably from 1973 when it first aired through to 1979 when it initially ended. Watching it again on DVD was very, very enjoyable and to be honest quite refreshing. It was at the time an imaginative program and held a 70's quaintness. Remembered nothing of the second incarnation of the show, 1992 - 1995 and again nothing of the third reinvented show from 2001 - 2007.
You follow some rare talented humans as they 'Break out' and change from normal humans to the next stage in human evolution. They have abilities such as, telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation.
They have adventures inventing new technologies and fighting evil villains on this planet and from other galaxies. There are a few surprises along the way.
1973 - 1979 Series Series 2 ======= 1. The Blue and the Green: Part 1 Someone has been painting Alien worlds with frightening accuracy and that person must be found.
2. The Blue and the Green: Part 2 The mystery of the paintings becomes a little clearer as Liz joins the boys to help them solve the mystery.
3. The Blue and the Green: Part 3 Another painting is discovered but it is a trap for the tomorrow people.
4. The Blue and the Green: Part 4 John is kidnapped and a daring rescue goes awry.
5. The Blue and the Green: Part 5 Earths destruction is imminent. Can the Tomorrow people intervene?
6. A Rift in Time: Part 1 Dream and Telepathy are linked as they are about to discover.
7. A Rift in Time: Part 2 Stephen must travel back in time to save Peter.
8. A Rift in Time: Part 3 An offensive move by the tomorrow people turns to disaster.
9. A Rift in Time: Part 4 Time travel again to stop the roman empire dominating the known universes.
10. The Doomsday Men: Part 1 We meet the Doomsday men who are dedicated to perpetual chaos and war.
11. The Doomsday Men: Part 2 The tomorrow people infiltrate the Doomsday mens organization.
12. The Doomsday Men: Part 3 Earth is under threat from the Doomsday men and only the tomorrow people can save us.
13. The Doomsday Men: Part 4 The doomsday men are defeated and the story ends happily.
The show was a kids fun Sci-Fi show but later series tried to move to a more teenage and even an adult viewing audience, it never really worked.
The plots to each show are quite good and move along at a fair pace. The dialogue however at times is not too good and in places awful. The science would not stand up to scrutiny today but at the time it was fun stuff. The actors all gave great performances and held the show together and the plot lines where also pretty good, if not great.
All in all worth a watch and worth it for the nostalgia alone. A fun Sci-Fi romp that you will smile at whilst watching.
Recommended.
