OK, so this film is about an unsinkable ship that leaves Southampton on its maiden voyage; heads for the USA, hits and iceberg and sinks. So that took me 10 seconds to write, that took them 3 hours to film.
I know that this is a film that tells us all about one of the greatest tragedies of the seas in recent years, but why not let it rest? If you excuse the pun...............
You know what is going to happen right from the very start, and so what is the point of sitting there for 3 hours just to see a big ship sink? I am not a heartless pig, as I feel for those who sadly lost their lives - and also for those who lost loved ones, not to mention those who survived to tell the tale but had to see that happen right in front of them.
The soundtrack did nothing but spoil it for me - I prefered the old versions of it, where they just tell you the story of what happened and left it at that.
And again in the same way, the special effects were entertaining - but they just sadly made me laugh. I would like to see a film made that has got eother totally outstanding and spectular special effects, or just doesn't with them at all as this makes a good movie/ film for me.
I am not a heartless person as I said, and I feel that this should have been made more in memory of those who died. I personally don't think that it is quite true to life, judging by other thinsg that I have seen or heard about this. Take for example the fact that there was a ship on the horizon, whose lights could just be seen........ Need I say more?
