I am sure that all the people who have described this film as the scariest film they have ever seen (or similar) must have been brought up on a healthy diet of Walt Disney all their lives as that can be the only reason that they are shocked or disturbed by this movie. Whilst some of the effects are admittedly realistic, the storyline is predictable to say the least- you know the script, a bunch of American kids drive to the middle of nowhere and are plucked away one by one to meet their doom by being eventually hacked to pieces by a chainsaw weilding weirdo spilling as much blood and guts as the prop man could muster at the time. The acting is average except for our villain who, had he spent less time swinging the chainsaw around his head in an attempt to look scary and actually got on with the job of catching and killing those annoying college dropouts, then we all could have gone home a little bit sooner. This film should have been left in the 70's when it was groundbreaking .Unfortunately it has no place in the 21st Century as it is just old hat.
