Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, what an absolute pile of rancid horse dung this was, even though it has gone down in cinema history as a classic horror movie I couldn’t find one single redeeming feature! I mean it was just awful! The acting didn’t even make third rate never mind second, there were no horrific moments, no special effects to speak of, nothing!
Anyway, this is the story for what’s its worth. A group of teenagers (Who are unbelievably stupid) are on their way to visit their Grandfathers grave, and then on to the old family home. They soon encounter a family of cannibals and one by one they meet their end at the hands of leather face, (A nutter with a chainsaw). It wouldn’t have been so bad but for the only survivor Sally, who screams her way through half of the film. Which to say the least is somewhat irritating.
Director Tobe Hooper, who in all honesty has done better, e.g. Poltergeist, must have been laughing all the way to the bank. In all honesty if you haven’t seen this movie then please don’t bother, because you won’t thank yourself and frankly the screaming will seriously get on your nerves.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre – A complete waste of space.
