The Terry Jones Collection DVD

Advantages: Python excellence, very very very very funny
Disadvantages: I refuse to accept it has any.

...This is one of those films that you watch again and again, learn eavery line and irritate people at dinner partys with by repeating it verbotem. This is a film to be placed permanently in FRONT of your video recorder so that every time you use your VCR you consider watching this first before anything else. It was the Pythons first proper film after the Flying Circus TV series and is essentially just a collection of sketches set in the Middle Ages strung together by a plot involving King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table (great song about them in the film, "They dance whenever they are able") search for the Holy Grail. The late, great Graham Chapman is King Arthur (amongst other roles) and all the other Pythons play a wild variety of roles throughout. ...Finally a DVD set that takes the darkest ages in history and turn them into the funniest 5 hours and 45 minutes of your life! As a big fan of the Monty Python series, these movies are absolutely fantastic. What I love about each of these films are the way these guys don't hold back on their antics. Every time I watch these films it amazes me how cleverly Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin are able to quickly change characters throughout the films and still manage to keep audiences in stitches. This DVD Includes: Life of Brian, a story about the life of one man who was born the same time as the Messiah and in the end is mistaken for the Messiah after getting involved in a new religious movement to get rid of the Romans from Judea. ...Another masterpiece from the lads. John Clease, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Graham Chapman, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam star in this epic adventure in search for the holy grail. The opening credits feature a multitude of llama's who have contributed to the films production with cool flashing colours. The hilarity progresses from there following the quest of king arthur for the holy grail with his knight sidekicks. There are many funny moments in this film from brave sir robin to a killer rabbit with "big pointy teeth". The ending of the film is sheer genius even though alot of people think it is poor! The special features cover the standards but also encludes such rarities as subtitle tracks for people who do not like the film (not possible!!!!)... Read review
