Before he started making chick flicks, James Cameron was renowned as one of the greatest science fiction directors in Hollywood. But out of all his great movies Terminator is by far his true masterpiece. The film opens in the year 2029, in a future where humanity has been enslaved by highly intelligent and malign computers. The only resistance to this tyranny comes from a group of rogue humans led by a man called John Connor. Naturally enough, the robots want him dead, but since they can't track him down in their time, their only option is to send one of their own back through time to present-day LA to kill his mother Sarah, before he is even conceived But john conner knows this and sends a highley skilled soldier from the future to protect his mother.This is the movie that reallyt got arnies career moving and led to some great roles including terminator 2. This double-disc set also takes the high ground. The anamorphic transfer, reframed to fit 16:9 screens, is hugely detailed. There's some minor print damage evident, but it's unlikely you've ever seen this movie look so good. Also the extra,s reveal what went on behind the movie and also give away alot about the characters. You also get to see arniey and cameron talk together about what they think about the movie which is very interesting. Overall this relly is a good buy.
