Director: James Cameron. Producers: John Daly, Gale Anne Hurd and Derek Gibson Writers: James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Biehn and Linda Hamilton.
Released in 1984 this first film begins a series of fantastic movies where future meets present with action pact consequences.
**BRIEF PLOT**
When a machine wrapped in human skin cells is sent back from 2029, (where the machines rule the world), to 1984, the machine, or 'Terminator' (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) is hell bent on destroying all the Sarah Conners in the phone book.
Fortunately, for Sarah Conner, (played by Linda Hamilton) a savour appears in the form of Kyle Reese, (played by Michael Biehn), a human from the future who follows the Terminator through the time portals.
With the terminator on a mission to eliminate Sarah she is finding it very hard to believe why she is its target, even when Reese tries to explain what is happening and why she has been chosen for termination…
Sarah and Kyle can only run and hide as the Terminator hunts them down with the intensions of completing its mission… the termination of Sarah Conners…

**IN CONCLUSION**
A great action movie with the rather 'iffy' actor (now U.S. politician) Arnold Schwarzenegger, although his part as the Terminator seems to be perfect for him…
The story line is well written, without being to confusing, making this an easy movie to watch, the twist at the end really giving the audience something to think about.
The stunts are adequate and well presented, without going too over the top and spoiling the movie itself.
The special effects are well done, especially the quite convincing Terminator as its metal skeleton is slowly revealed during the movie. You realise that a lot of thought went into the way the SFX team wanted the audience to appreciate just what the machine actually is.
Linda Hamilton acts her part well as the very confused, and increasingly angry, lady with something to protect, and Michael Biehn gives his all as her protector.
In all, a good action/sci-fi movie with everything a good movie needs, including the standard car chases and many shoot outs, and with that bit of romance you get the entire lot.
*Would I recommend this…?
Yes I would… even if you rate Schwarzenegger as an actor, he plays the part of a futuristic 'robot' well, almost looking like one in real life is a big advantage I suppose.
It is more or less none stop action and is worth at least one viewing… you can get a copy from www.amazon.co.uk for less than £7.00 today.
