The Terminal was released in 2004, Tom Hanks played the lead role in this movie & directed by Steven Spielberg. Well they say this movie is based on true incident taken place in Paris in 90's.
Cast : Tom Hanks, Catherine Zeta Jones, Stanley Tucci etc... Directed By :Steven Spielberg
Story :
The movie starts with showing Terminal of New York airport in the picture, then a plane lands at the runway and suddenly bunch of people are shown coming out and heading towards passport control.
At one counter there is Victor Navorski(Tom Hanks) from a country name Karkozia. This is his first visit to the States & he cannot speak English. He can only speak his Karkozian Language and few English words. The officer at the counter finds that his international passport fails, the reason for that is when he was in the plane, there was a war in his country, the goverment had fallen down and all other crisis, due to which all the documents from that country were failed. Due to this he was left with no Citizenship.
The incharge at the airport cannot allow him to enter New York as his passport was no longer valid and also cannot send him to his country because of the problems there & no valid documents. So he tells victor to stay in international Passenger terminal & wait until something is sorted out at his Country.
As he cannot speak English he has a very tough time there, the food passes given to him were lost so he was left hungry. But as the time passes by he learns to speak English, makes friends out there at the Terminal. The airport incharge wants to get rid of Victor but dont know what to do.
Catherine Zeta Jones is playing the role of an Air Hostess and she meets Victor at the Airport Terminal, Vicotr fells in love with her in some meetings.
What happens is you to find out by watching it, what is the reason for victor to come to US. All these questions can get an answer by watching the movie.
My Analysis :
When i first heard the film & knowing the director i thought it would be another Steven Speilberg film. then when i knew the story i thought it would be a drama or tragedy or a slow movie, But i was wrong this isa comedy Movie and that to a classic comedy.
95% of the movie is shot at the Airport Terminal rest is in the New York city. You will just see few scenes of the city. And all this goes very well the movie. I enjoyed the movie very much, It makes you laugh most of the time but you also feel sorry for victor for things he goes through in this movie. but this is also a inspirational movie from which you can learn about waiting for some thing calmly, always take life in best way. the way he lives his life at the terminal is simply great.
It teaches you so much how to face difficult situation in life without getting Panic & to find solution for everything.
Everyone in this movie has done agood job, from the officers to the friends of Tom Hanks have done well.
Catherine Zeta had a little scope to her role but she has done a good job. But the movie belongs to Tom Hanks, what a performance by this guy. Simply great in my words. The way he expressed himself, the comic timing in acting and the way he delievered the dialogues are superb to watch. he played the character of Victor very well. and you dont feel that he is acting its really happening with this guy. So full marks to Tom and also to Steven to make such a film.
I'm sure once you watch this movie you will definetly like it.
