Advantages: Follows on with Mary's fascinating story, informative, thought provoking and interesting Disadvantages: Agnes seemed a weak character, lacked some of the magic of the first book
...quickly managed to confirm it was not. This left me wondering at the point to these little notes at the beginning and end of the book, however that becomes apparent in Sorceress.
I hadn't realised Witch Child was a teenagers book when I acquired it, nonetheless I thoroughly enjoyed it (I reviewed it previously if your interested in reading that). On finishing I immediately sought out the sequel to this fantastic book, Sorceress by Celia Rees.
Sorceress begins in the present day, introducing us to Agnes, a teenage girl of native American heritage. She is studying at college and has just read Witch Child and the appeal for more information. Agnes is convinced she knows something about what may have happened to Mary, but will Alison Ellman believe and be interested in the less conventional and spiritual way Agnes has to offer?

Advantages: funny, imaginative, animation Disadvantages: not just for kids
...I watched this last night, and i was supprised it was good.
Its about a little West African boy called Kirikou who is born walking and talking, straight away. He talks to his mother about his tribe and learns they are under the spell of a evil sorceress. His adventure starts when he runs of in a very commical way to help his uncle confront the sorceress.
While all the other men of the village have been eaten by the sorceress while trying to defeat her, little Kirikou, with the help of a hat (which he is hidden inside) manages to get a deal.
The story goes on to show Kirikou's adventure in protecting his village, and friends from some very imaginative enemies, all controlled by the sorceress.
The animations is very colourfull, and the story shows courage and determination. Its not just for kids, I enjoyed this too.
The soundtrack...

Advantages: The early days are the best Disadvantages: There are only 24 episodes!
...By now it should be clear to regular readers of my ops that Friends is one of the things that rocks my world. Im going to write a detailed overview of all the episodes in series 2 and give some details about the boxset.
The boxset I have consists of three discs, the older series' have different styles to the newer ones. Seasons 1-6 are available for around £15 now in shops and on the internet. The newer seaons cost much more, unless of course you know about the wonder of play.com and cdwow. Newer boxsets cost arounf £80 in HMV and MVC but they can be had for around £40 on the internet, and thats even before you check out Ebay!
The reason websites such as play can offer better prices is that they import region 4 dvds which are good on region 2DVD players and PS2's.
Series 2 is a certificate 12 which means that parental...
