I can not emphasise the brilliance of this film enough. It teaches us to be more self-aware and friendly towards other people whilst presenting an amazing story with exceptional acting and values.
I first watched this film after I had heard a good review of it on an MTV programme based all about movies. I hadn't had chance to see it at the cinema, and so was determined to do so on DVD. I was impressed by the number of times I went to rent it out and it wasn't there, even at my local 'Blockbusters' where there are hundreds of copies of it, which told me I was in for a treat.
I had hoped for it to be a good film but I hadn't expected what I got when I actually sat down and watched the film. It is not only involving throughout, but interesting and entertaining as well.
The film tells the story of a young boy who claims that he can see dead people walking about, which is obviously disturbing him pyschologically and mentally as it is affecting the way in which he views things. It is not scary, but does feature some disturbing thoughts and scenes and so the '15' certificate is appropriate for the film I feel.
As I have said, the acting in this film is superb. Bruce Willis (Dr Malcolm Crowe) is both realistic and thrilling in his role and so are all the other actors, but particularly the boy who claims that he can sense and see dead people - eight-year-old Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment). The amount of drama and suspense that is built up between these two focal characters at times is so unbelieveable that it is hard to believe that the child is as young as he is being able to act so convincingly.
The most amazing thing about this film though, is the ending. The film has the biggest twist that I have ever seen in any story ever. However, if someone has told you it or you know that there is a twist coming, it spoils the entire movie and will make you enjoy it far less, so I won't say anymore about it. One thing that I will say though is that if you don't guess it, you will want to see the film again just to make you appreciate the film in its entireity and subtlely.
The special effects in the film are few but clever and appropriate and there are just the right amount to make you not scared but uncomfortable, even in your own surroundings.
The soundtrack is not spectacular, though it might be worth a listen to if you enjoy the film a lot after seeing it.
The extra features for the film are unbelieveable. It shows you just how much effort a film of this calibre takes to create and there are numerous documentaries and deleted scenes which only add to the quality of this disc. The documentaries are so that it makes you say 'Oh yeah!' when you look back on the relevance of certain scenes in the movie that you don't see are particularly relevant. The one that interested me most was on the use of certain colours throughout the movie to represent different emotions and developments in the film.
If you want to check out more about the movie before deciding if you want to buy or rent it then go to the official Sixth Sense site: http://www.bvimovies.co.uk/sixthsense/
I would strongly recommend this film to anyone who is a horror fan or otherwise. It is not particularly 'horror'ful at all but is well worth a view, particulary for the twist in the ending and the special features that are on the disc. Whether you buy this disc or rent it, I would definitely recommend this film. I haven't known a single person not love this film yet, and when you have watched this film, you will see why it is easy to see why. I am now desperate to see 'Unbreakable', a new film with the same director and Bruce Willis to see if it withholds the standard set so highly by this film.

Brilliant opinion. Watched the film and at the end where the twist came decided to watch the film again and enjoyed it more.

You are right, it's a nice film to watch, but there was something that I just couldn't stand about this film. Don't know what, but there was something. Anyway, watch The Others. Good film, shocking in some parts. Zoey :-O
