"Treehouse of Horror IX" has a trio of terrifying stories: "Hell Toupée" in which Snake is electrocuted and his hair is given to Homer, who then is possessed by Snake and takes revenge on the people who sent him there, "The Terror of Tiny Toon", in which Bart and Lisa become cartoon characters in an Itchy & Scratchy cartoon, and "Starship Poopers", in which Maggie transforms into an alien, which prompts Marge to tell Homer he is not Maggie's father, Kang is. So Bart suggests they go on the Jerry Springer show to solve their problems. An average episode really, there have been much better Treehouse episodes, and the controversy only comes from the tirade of swearing and violence that happens when Kang and the Simpsons go on Jerry Springer, which admittedly is pretty funny.
"The Cartridge Family" has Homer obsessed with buying a gun and, once he's bought one, demonstrates less than great gun safety, so Marge and the kids move out, leaving Homer to decide whether to keep his gun or lose his family. This wasn't broadcast for quite a long time due to obvious reasons. It's an alright episode though, some good laughs with some serious moments too.
In "Natural Born Kissers", Homer and Marge are stuck in a rut, so they travel to a B&B to try and spice things up. While they're getting intimate, a maid comes in and then hurries away shocked. Marge and Homer discover that the fear of getting caught is a turn on, and so try to find more situations where that could happen. Some memorable moments (Homer naked dangling from a hot air balloon), and probably one of the more 'adult' Simpsons episodes, it's never sleazy though, and presents things in the usual Simpsons comic style.
Finally, in "Grampa Vs. Sexual Inadequacy", Homer and Marge again are having troubles in their love life, until Grampa gives Homer a love tonic he made himself. Surprisingly, it works very well, and so they both hit the road together trying to make some money from this miracle tonic. Meanwhile, everyone in Springfield has taken advantage of this potion, leaving the children to formulate that UFO's are to blame for the adults strange behavior. One of the episodes from the golden age of "The Simpsons", it has great writing and some touching moments between Homer and his dad.
Even though these are quality episodes, this set suffers from a high price tag and lack of any extras. Overall a very nice collection of older and newer Simpsons episodes, five stars!

Advantages: Best Enterntainment on DVD Disadvantages: May be the cost is a factor but its worth every penny !!!
I don't remember when The Simpsons first premiered because I was a 3 yr old in 1989, the year it was first made. I can say that through re-runs and now new episodes, I absolutely LOVE the show. It's fantastic and really shows how family life is. I can say that my family much resembles that of The Simpsons. I have a dad who works hard but hates work and would just rather sit at home in front of the tube, beer in hand. I have a mother who only loves ... ...I'm the baby who's always there. Someone can always relate to a Simpson, thus the reason why the show is so famous! I can say that this is a DVD you are looking for if you really want to treasure it and watch over and over again !! ...

Advantages: Four solid episodes Disadvantages: What's different to any other Simpsons DVD?
Another SimpsonsDVD offering, and for this reviewer, another disappointment. It isn't that the episodes featured ('Natural Born Kissers', 'The Way We Weren't', 'Large Marge', and 'Three Gays Of The Condo') are bad episodes, it is simply that I do not believe that this offers any better value for money than any other SimpsonsDVD.
I also felt annoyed when buying the product, the creators have referred to the DVD as containing four 'unreleased' episodes...this is not true, 'Natural Born Kissers' featured on the earlier Simpsons - 'TooHot For Tv' DVD. Although it is a good episode, and has the same tongue-in-cheek comedy that most Simpsons episodes convey, the claim is unproven, something that frustrated me.
The best episode on the DVD is 'Three Gays Of The Condo', Homer produces quote after quote of comedic brilliance, I would ...
In 'Treehouse Of Horror 9' a hair-transplant changes Homer's life. In 'The Cartridge Family' Homer buys a hand-gun to protect his family after a spate of soccer related crimes. In 'Natural Born Kissers' Homer and Marge experience near public cuddling. In 'Grampa vs Sexual Inadequacy' Grampa uses his revitalising tonic.

DVD Description
Springfield's favourite dysfunctional family are at their most outrageous in this special collection of four Jerry Springer-esque episodes featuring sex, guns, and bad toupees. In "The Cartridge Family," Homer buys a handgun and drives the clan mad with his trigger-happy ways. In "Natural Born Kissers," Homer and Marge try to reignite their fizzling love life with some very public snogging. In "Grampa vs Sexual Inadequacy," Grampa Simpson's revitalizing tonic puts some zing in Homer's trousers. And in "Treehouse of Horror 9," the family celebrates another Halloween, Simpson-style, with 3 hair-raising tales of terror: "Hell Toupee," "The Terror of Tiny Town," and "Starship Poopers."
