The fourth season of The Simpsons started in 1992 and this DVD boxset contains all 22 episodes with Audio Commentary For Each Episode along with featurettes and deleted scenes giving an all-around look at the making of the episodes.
The show has come on leaps and bounds during the first few seasons and they really hit their stride here. The animation is more fluid, the writing is sharper than previous seasons and the stories are equal parts moving and hilarious. Anyone who says animation can't do moving should watch "I Love Lisa" in which Lisa takes pity on Ralph Wiggum and gives him a valentines, without thinking that Ralph might take a shine to her.
We also get a little of Marge and Homer before they moved into Evergreen Terrace in "Lisa's First Word" and have many classic episodes such as "Marge vs. the Monorail", "Mr. Plow" and their first of many clip shows.
Stars by now were literally queuing up to come on this show, and so in this series we have Elizabeth Taylor, Bette Midler and Johnny Carson, the last two appearing in a all-star episode also starring Hugh Hefner and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, all trying to get Krusty his job back after he gets canceled.
Overall an amazing season from an amazing show, I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone!
