Another great release from fox containing in chronological order the last 11 episodes from season 2 of the hit cartoon The Simpsons
“The Way we was”
In desperation for something to do when their TV breaks down, the family are told the story of how Homer and Marge first met back in ’74.
“Homer vs Lisa and the 8th Commandment”
When Homer sees a rare instance of Ned Flanders Angry he hurries over to find out what has got Ned’s goat. It transpires that Ned has been offered free cable by a cowboy TV repair man for a mere $50 one off payment. Homer after giving this quick consideration rushes over to take up this offer. Only problem is the ever righteous Lisa claims that it breaks the 8th Commandment “Thou shalt not steal” and refuses to watch, upsetting Homer.
“Principal Charming”
Selma tells Marge how much she wants to get married, realising how lonely her sister is, Marge enlists Homer to find her a man. After Bart once again gets in trouble with Bart Homer invites him round to the house with the story that it is just to make up
for all the trouble his son has been. Unfortunately Skinner falls for Patty-the other sister…
“O brother where art thou?”
After he has a heart attack Homer’s father informs him that he has a long lost brother from an affair he had when he was younger. This brother was put up for adoption and never heard of again. On hearing this Homer sets out to find the brother he never knew he had…
“Bart’s Dog gets an F”
Bart’s Dog Santa’s Little Helper is causing mayhem throughout the house so Homer sends him to dog training school. If the dog fails…he is out!
“Old Money”
Grampa complains that his family don’t really care about him after another pointless for-the-sake-of-it trips out. Just as he is feeling incredibly distressed he meets a lady from the home called Bea. The two get on like a house on fire and fall in love. Only problem is the monthly visit out comes up with his family and as they have realised how upset he is they make a big thing of it. Grampa protesting that it his girlfriends birthday party his met with disbelieving patronisation, they think she is a figment of his imagination. Unfortunately for grampa Bea dies while he is out and he tells Homer he will never forgive him…
“Brush with Greatness”
While looking in the loft for some weights Homer finds an old painting Marge did for her idol Ringo Star in her younger days. When Lisa sees it she encourages Marge to start painting again and she ends up winning a local art fair and due to this Burns commissions her to paint a picture of him for his new museum wing…..
“Lisa’s substitute”
When Lisa’s normal teacher comes down with lyme’s disease a substitute is called. Mr Bergstrom is incredibly popular with Lisa who nurtures her intellectual side as no teacher normally does. Meanwhile it is Bart vs Martin to be class president.
“The War of the Simpsons”
At a Simpsons House Party Homer gets drunk and manages to upset most of the neightbours. Upset, Marge organises for the two of them to go on a Church trip to improve their marriage. Unfortunately all Homer wants to do is fish for a giant cat fish called General Sherman.
“Three men and a comic book”
At a local comic fair Bart aspies Radioactive Man number 1 and decides his laugh will be complete if he can just get it. Unfortunately for Bart it carries a weighty $100 price. Despite this Bart works really hard to earn the money but ultimately fails. Just as he is about to give up he realises if him, Martin and Millhouse chip in together they can afford the comic. The only problem is who gets to hold on to the comic?
“Blood Feud”
Mr Burns doesen’t turn up for a local presentation and Smithers worried rushes round to his house. He finds Burns collapsed on the floor and calls out Dr Hibbert. Hibbert diagnoses Burns with hypohaemia (Not enough blood) and in need of a transfusion. Homer smelling a jack pot when he heres asks Marge his blood type. Sadly for Homer he is the wrong group but Bart does…
Overall this is a very good boxset to add to the continuation of this series' release on sell through video. Having myself borrowed this I am holding out for the DVD release (Season 1 on disc 30th Sep I believe) but this is a great pack and I highly recommend it.

You can't beat The Simpsons, it has to be the best cartoon show ever made, I must go out and buy some of these box sets me thinks! Great op and well described, thanks.
