The Simpsons first season DVD is one that any Simpsons fan should own. It has all the great episodes of the first season, which started off the Simpsons phenomenon. It's not only a chance to have thirteen episodes to hand, so you can watch them whenever you want, but it is bundled with loads of special features. So if you're a Simpson's fan, why don't you own this already!
DVD Features
Thirteen episodes, on 3 three disks. You will be able to read about the episodes in this review, covering the story lines and acting as a memory refresher to those who are thinking about purchasing this collector's item.
Each of the three disks offers commentaries on each episode, by the creators of the Simpsons. This is interesting to see how each episode was done as it was and how things have improved as time has gone on. The first, second and third disk all include some original scripts, good for the viewers that are a fanatic of the Simpsons who want to know how episodes are laid out.
The third disk is the one that includes most of the special features and you will find that there are loads to get through. Choose from out takes, a BBC special on America's first family and ABC news report on the Bart Simpson T-shirt controversy. The very first Simpsons episode, "Good Night Simpsons", that was show during the time when the Simpsons appeared as short clips on the Tracey Ullman Show. The animation has come a long way since then, this is so worth watching, you'll be amazed at how these crappy cartoons went on the become the greatest cartoon show of all time! Don't forget to watch the unaired episode and foreign language clips (foreign language clips? Just a glimpse into how big the Simpsons have become)
There are also still galleries that include early sketches of the Simpsons, current pictures of the Simpsons and magazine covers. All the features are accessed through the main menu, of which is designed to keep within the theme of the Simpsons and is very easy to navigate.
Episodes
There are a total of 13 episodes that originally aired in the USA starting on the 17th December 1989 and ending on the 13th May 1990. Here is an overview of the episodes that are included

Life In The Fast Lane [7G10] - Homer Night Out [7G13] - The Crepes of Wrath [7G12] - Krusty Gets Busted [7G01] - Some Enchanted Evening

Conclusion
This is a great box set DVD, if it weren't brought for me as a gift, I would have brought it. I have started collecting all the Simpsons box sets and they are all as good as the first. I own a Simpson's web site and when the news about the DVD being released was circulating, this was big news and the main subject of conversation was what was going to be included as special features. This DVD has some very interesting features but would have been better if there included some more episodes from the Tracey Ullman show, this were really fun.
The first one is well designed, with your usual folder DVD box that holds the DVD's. The colour of the box changes as the newer seasons are released. The episodes included are ones that I have seen loads of time on television and other Simpsons fans have too, but the special features are worth witnessing.
The price for this set is getting lower and lowers all the time, and it pays to shop around. This makes an enjoyable buy!
The Simpsons launched back in 1991. Ten years later the the DVD was released.
The Simpsons The Complete First Season features the very first 13 episodes from Springfield. In the following review I hope to inform you as much as I can on why you should or shouldn't buy this DVD. I hope you enjoy it.
First let's take a look at the tweleve episodes in more detail. They are in the following order.
1. Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire
This is where ... ...Mother" tatto removed. Marge spends the families christmas money hoping Homers christmas bonus will cover the shopping. But unknown to Marge power plant owner Mr Burns has decide not to given a christmas bonus this year. Affraid of telling his wife the truth Homer decides to become a santa at the local mall. Has Homer saved christmas?
I thought for a first episode this is very good. The animation might not be the best thats ever been produced but ...

Advantages: Great if you like the Simpsons (obviously), I got it for very cheap Disadvantages: It's not cheap everywhere, has a different feel to later series.
This is, fairly obviously, the DVD of the first TV series of the very popular show, 'The Simpsons'. For those of you who haven't heard of it before, the Simpsons is a cartoon series that has been running since the early 90s, which focuses on one particular family, the Simpsons. It's a great cartoon for children, but also has a lot of jokes in it that only adults will get, making it accessible for all ages of viewers.
On the TV the Simpsons is on ... ...rapidly in recent years. In the mid to late 90s, the Simpsons was the must-see cartoon for children and young teenagers as well as their parents, so it is quite a disappointment to hear that it isn't what it used to be.
And so, that's why I decided to buy the first series on DVD - to see how good it used to be in the beginning, regardless of whether or not it's run out of steam in the past few series. That, and also because I managed to find the ...

...favorite television shows (Red Dwarf,Futurama, The Officie, Alan Partridge, etc...) so it was only write that Matt Groening should bring one out entitled "The Simpsons Complete first season" I bought my version from America so it's region 1 and that will be the version I will be comentating upon. It comes with three disk containing all 13 episodes from season 1. The case I believe is quite an attractive silver case, as far as box sets go. The disks ... ...of every episode. The following are the 13 episodes from season 1: Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire - This is the first episode and one of my favorites. Its the one where the simpsons come across Santa's Little Helper. Bart the Genius- Not as good animation as the first episode but still ok. Bart swaps IQ tests with Martin, and gets moves to a special school for the gifted. Homers Odyssey- This is not one of my favorite episodes, Homer gets fired. ...

...this series 1 simpsons from the shop W.h.smith. I buy it for 16 pounds. I was a young person shopping in Uxbridge, running for the greatest DVDs and I saw this one on the shelf to just look like a small family who are made of yellow skin. Aswell as the yellow skin there is another funny appearance that is on this 3 disc set. I won't tell you the funny appearance but I will tell you that the other day I largely watched the simpsons in a certain silly ... ...I enjoyed all of the shows on series 1 : 1. Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire- In the first episode you see how Homer manages to save Christmas with no money to spend, Bart gets a tattoo, Homer goes to the Santa claus school. 2. Bart the Genius - Bart cheats on the IQ test and is sent to a school for geniuses. The one where the whole family goes to the opera and Homer and the kids misbehave themself.
3. Homer's Odyssey - After losing his job and ...
