This is a video containing four great episodes from the hit cartoon series, The Simpsons! The four episodes Reality Bites, Homer The Smithers, Deep Space Homer and Marge Gets A Job. Here is a review of each of episodes and my opinion on each and on this video as a whole.
Episode Information *************************
Here are the lists of episodes with information about the story lines, original air dates, writers and directors of each of the episodes and my personal opinion on each. There are in order of how they appear on the video. They act as a memory refresher to those of you who have seen them and a taster for those of you who haven't.
[5F06] - Reality Bites Original Air Date 7 Dec 97 Written By: Dan Greaney Directed By: Swinton Scott Story Line: Marge takes a job with Lionel Hutz's Red Blazer Reality, an estate agency but finds her morals on shaky ground when she has to sell properties to friends that aren't up to scratch. But she manages to convince the Flanders' to move into a home called Murder House. My Opinion: Excellent episode where we see Marge's moral dilemmas, and we have some great jokes along the way.
[3F14] - Homer the Smithers Original Air Date: 25 Feb 96 Written By: John Swartzwelder Directed By: Steven Dean Moore Story Line: Smithers blames himself for neglecting Mr Burns and is sent on a vacation. A temporary replacement is needed and not wanting to be outdone, Smithers chooses Homer. My Opinion: Yet another excellent episode (I love them all really!) that has a brilliant story line and is really funny.
[1F13] - Deep Space Homer Original Air Date: 24 Feb 94 Written By: David Mirkin Directed By: Carlos Baeza Special Guest: Buzz Aldrin and James Taylor Story Line: NASA decides they need to rekindle public awareness of the space programme by sending an average guy into space, and Homer is chosen. My Opinion: One of my all time favourites, look out for when Homer opens a packet of crisps in space and the music starts playing, this is some classic animation.
[9F05] - Marge gets a Job Original Air Date: 5 Nov 92 Written By: Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein Directed By: Jeff Lynch Special Guest: Tom Jones Story Line: The Simpsons family home is sinking so to be able to pay for repairs Marge has to get a job. She finds a job at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, Mr Burns is smitten and has Tom Jones perform for Marge. My Opinion: An earlier episode that is worth watching. A very famous special guest that shows how good the Simpsons are.
Conclusion *************
Yet another great collection of episodes put on to a tape! The first episode on this video is a newer one and was one that I hadn't seen when I first brought this video. The chances are that if you are a Simpson's fan, you have seen this one already! The other three episodes on here are all great classics. It's hard for me to find anything wrong with the episodes but I am a very big fan. This video goes great as part of the collection, as each of the videos have different colours and designs that fit together once you have a lot of them.
There are only four episodes but they are very worth watching. These are some of the episodes that really make the yellow family stand out from the rest. Some of these episodes are soon to be released on the DVD box sets, but the others have a few years yet. If you are looking for quality and hours of entertainment, you won't find it with the video version of episodes. This video is also available in DVD version. The DVD is better quality, but only contains the same four eps. But if you want hours of entertainment, I would recommend the DVD boxsets, some with over 20 episodes, which is a lot of Simpsons! It costs a bit more money, but the quality and entertainment value is exceptional.
