Advantages: hilarious, Atkinson is a comedy genius Disadvantages: only 3 episodes, expensive way to get the whole set
Having only made 13 episodes you would think it would be easy enough to release the wholebox set as a complete and more cost effective production. But no, because we are english, we are 'rich' and can afford to splash out on the indivual DVD's, and of course we can wait whilst each is brought out at two month intervals. However if you live in america you get one whole box set, straight away, and before we even get our measly volume one with only 3 episodes on it. Arrgh. Appologies for the rant, but it's a good introduction as to why I have had to review one volume at a time. I do hope you enjoy reading about it.
As I'm sure the name Mr Bean will ring bells striaght away. He's the clumsy whimsical character which delighted so many with his mishaps in the 90's. I had to buy this as soon as I knew it was released. I love Mr Bean ...
Advantages: Action Disadvantages: This isn't 'The Terminator'
So here we have a farewell to the darker, Terminator stuff of Arnie's earlier career; a tasteless, clumsy mix of action, comedy and satire; one of the biggest flops of 1993 and the 1990s in general.
For all the things that people have labelled Last Action Hero down the years, however, I still can't bring myself to hate it. It's hardly amazing, I'll admit, but I'd still much rather watch this than half the action films that come out these days.
It's a self-conscious parody of action movie clichés (made famous primarily by Schwarzenegger himself) and for the most part it comes across quite entertaining. There's plenty of moments concerned with Arnie blowing shit up and making witty remarks about it; and he even meets his real-life counterpart face-to-face and gets the opportunity to poke some fun at himself. Confused? Allow me to ...
Advantages: Nice rooms, squash courts, friendly and helpful staff Disadvantages: Not the best location
We stayed at the Radisson SAS Hotel Beijing for 6 nights on our travel to Beijing in March 2003. We stayed there from march 15th.
The hotel itself doesn?t have a great location. It is located next to ring 3 on the northeast of Beijing. But this was not really a big issue because there were always taxis outside the hotel and it was easy to get into the center of town. It cost about 20-30 RMB to take the taxi into Tiananmen square. It is also possible to take the subway to get around. First you have to walk for about 15 minutes to get to Liufang station. From here you can get to the loop line and then switch to Line 1.
The lobby of the hotel is standard. On the second floor you will find the breakfast restaurant but there is also another restaurant called ?the grill? if I?m not mistaken. We only tried out the breakfast place and it ...
