I watched the rocky horror picture show at a friend's house and immediately loved it! Whilst looking to buy the DVD for myself, i came across this dvd set, with rocky horror and the added bonus of a related "sequel" to rocky horror called Shock Treatment. I hadn't seen Shock Treatment but thought I'd like it, with it being so closely related and with a lot of the same cast.

It's a very strange storyline and downright weird at times, but in a cool way - newlyweds Brad and Janet become stranded whilst driving on their way to their honeymoon (i think that's where they were going..but it doesnt really matter if not). Anyway, to get help, they approach a castle they passed earlier as it's their only hope of being able to call someone. Little do they know that it is home to a whole load of transylvanians - literally from out of this world! A crazy experience follows - they are introduced to "sweet transvestite" Frank N Furter, creepy brother and sister Riff Raff and Magenta and Frank N Furter's very own human creation, Rocky. Whilst Brad and Janet desperately wonder what they've gotten themselves into, the others sing and dance their way through the film, which includes the legendary "Time Warp". As the film goes on though, feelings of resentment and desire become apparent which leads to some dramatic events!
After watching the weird and wonderful rocky horror, I sat down to watch Shock Treatment. This film proved to be quite unmemorable - it was weird, but certainly not wonderful. The main plot is based on Brad and Janet entering a television game show, but honestly, I don't remember many details. It involves some of the same cast as rocky horror (richard o' brien, patricia quinn), and is also a musical, but it just doesnt measure up. In all honesty, it kind of creeped me out - it was just weird, not even in a cool, quirky sort of way. It was maybe the mental institute scenes with brad which put me off!
My advice would be to definitely purchase the rocky horror picture show, but leave out Shock Treatment as its not really worth watching!

...when I watched it for the first time I just wanted to watch it over and over again until the DVD broke. I thought it was absoluetly hilarious, I must say that Dr. Frank -n-Furter who was played by the spetacular tim curry was my favourite character in the whole film, I feel he really excelled himself in all aspects of the. I enjoyed the character Janet played by susan surandon simply for her presence with in the movie. Brad and janet are a young ... ...telephone. On their arival to the castle, they meet riff-raff the loyal handyman and his sister Magenta, together in their classic performance of the "time warp". They then stumble into a celebration of the creation of Rocky, who Janet later gets to know quite well. Watch Janet and Brad have unlocked and embrace desires that were unbeknown to them.
Unfortunately I haven't seen shock treatment, but I will update my review once I have seen it. sorry ...

Advantages: Funny, very enjoyable, the creation of the characters help to make the film! Disadvantages: A little dated now
...is just as amazing as the last! This has to be one of the best musical films i have seen ever. It's funny aswell as serious in some places. I think you have to watch the film at least twice to understand the full extent of it. I've also been to see this show in a theatre, i think it was the best experience i have ever encountered while attending the theatre, the atmosphere was so amazing and everybody made the experience even more enjoyable. ShockTreatment is the little known sequel to RHS, made in 1981 it is rated PG in this box set.
The box set itself was created to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the RockyHorrorShow. I love the rockyhorrorpictureshow and have done since coming across it in about 1980 I have watched it on hundreds of occasions and been to see the play, but this box set is really only for the die hard have to dress up club.
The actual lip box is great and makes a excellent ornament in the living room ( I find moving it around frequently maximises effect) other than this the set includes some postcards and a couple of booklets and guides and a copy of shocktreatment. Well I really do not rate, this it is just a poor immatation and did nothing special at the time of release either.
As long as you can get the set cheap then fine but I would not recommend paying to much unless you are a die hard fan

I brought this being a huge RockyHorror fan, and thought it would be brilliant. And it is!
The two disc edition of rockyhorror was jam packed with all sorts of extra and features which kept me entertained for a good few hours.
Was very impressed at the little comic of rockyhorror you get with it, although it doesnt contain the whole movie, it is very well done.
The audience participation book was very good to read through and the 3 pictures I got differed to the ones shown on the back of the box but I think the ones I got are better anyways.
I had never seen Shocktreatment before and I think it is a highly underated film. It is easy to see how people might not like it as it is different to RHPS but if you dont compare the two you;ll probably enjoy it more. The more I watch it the more I like it. And i am constantly listening ...
