If you're a big horror fan, you will love this one. I do advise you to watch The Ring before you watch The Ring Two, it will give you a good background to start off on.
This is a horror story about a an investigative reporter who tries to escape some haunting memories from The Ring (one).
Basically, Rachel Keller (the reporter) made a copy of a video tape with some friends, years before. It looks as though more copies have been made of the tape. If you watch the tape, it is almost certain that you're going to die, and it's not going to be a nice way either. The content of the tape is some weird black and white shots of things. These are explained in the story.
Rachel and her son Aiden move to another town where they start up home again. This is to escape the memories of what happened in The Ring (one). Rachel is a reporter and learns through work that a crime has been committed at a nearby house. She goes to investigate and her workmates say there's something odd about the face of the man who died. Yes, they're right about that one! The evidence at the scene makes Rachel realise that Samara it back!!!
Samara is a little girl with long black hair. Her mother is still alive, but in a mental institution. Samara is afraid of water, because that's what her mother used to kill her with. Samara has taken control of Rachel's son Aiden, and Rachel knows she must fight Samara again to save her son and herself.
Towards the end of the film, Rachel throws herself off a cliff into the sea, and you think - this is the end.
Is it forever???
There's some great effects, especially the bathroom scene where water is escalating towards the ceiling. Very good, but I wouldn't want to clean it all up.
The special features in this DVD are:
o Rings o Samara - from Eye to Icon o Imagination in Focus o The Making of Ring 2 o The Haunting of the Ring 2 o Deleted and Alternate Scenes
A great return of The Ring. Just as good as the first film, but a little bit samey as in the storyline. I suppose you do tend to get this with sequels. Even so, it is a great horror for a night in with a DVD. I'm sure you will love this one!

V helpful review because have seen the first film and enjoyed it, but if the second is basically the same, then probably won't see it.
