well as exploration, their mission is to search for life, in the form of micro organisms. This is to be America's first hands-on study of the planet, and we hear top NASA scientists give their views on the possibility of life on other worlds.Since the earliest of times, man has been interested in the heavens. Mars was named after the God of War, because its red hue was reminiscent of blood. Early astronomers believed that the Martian surface was similar to that of Earth, and as such could indeed be habitable. This programme includes previously unseen footage of robot exploration, bringing us closer to the secrets of this mysterious planet, and perhaps the universe itself.
Advantages: Satisfies a sweettooth Disadvantages: doesnt really taste of anything
As many people do I went shopping but as I was at the checkout started to get a little bit peckish (something to do with it being almost 3pm and not having eated yet but anyway) beside the till is a rack of sweeties, one of the items was the new Mars Plants, and as I thought I should at least try to be healthy and not eat a whole mars bar I decided to buy them.
The packaging is in the typical Mars colours, about the size of a bag of maltesers, in one corner there is the red triangle saying New, wonder how long they'll leave that there? The main part of the pack has Mars in its usual style, but smaller than normal, below this is written Planets in reversed mars colours (the yellowish cream on top, gold then red. Below this there are pictures of the product itself, three different shades of brown with the three types of 'planet ...

Advantages: good FX Disadvantages: story isn't very original
Val Kilmer, Carrie-Anne Moss and Tom Sizemore star in this sci-fi drama about a team of scientists flying to the RedPlanet (thats Mars to you and me!!).
The story is set in the future when man is destoying the earth and colonisation of Mars is the only hope. They have been sending probes to Mars for years. The probes are filled with algae which they hope will create an atmosphere on the planet.
When the oxygen levels suddenly drop our intrepid scientists are sent to Mars to investigate. Having spent 6 months getting there, they have problems at the last minute and are forced to abandon the mother-ship and crash land in the landing pod.
The story then follows them as they discover the planet now does have an atmosphere ... but something has destroyed the living pod they were going to use. This mystery coupled ...
Advantages: couldn't find any Disadvantages: To much like other films of the same theme
in typical style has to stay behind to carry out vital work so the other five depart.
The arrive on mars in only what i can describe as a great big beach ball. You know what i mean, the same technology was used in the film as was used with the real mars lander last year.
After rolling all over the planet surface and going over the edge of some cliffs the craft finally comes to rest.
They disembark not only to find that there is no sign of the algea which by now should have benn covering the planet, the robot is damaged and one of the crew is dying and he eventually sends them on their way to find the terrfoming station which holds supplies while he dies alone.
After a while they find the station but it is totalled, they find an old radion but need a power boost to get it to work so theyt decide to cannibalise the robot ...
