studio album--pretty much marks the beginning of the end. By the time they began work on this album, the next generation of New Wave artists that the Ramones had helped inspire into being were beginning to overtake them, their creatively inspired, personally torturous one-album association (1980's superb End Of The Century) with Phil Spector had come to an end, and they were still yet to learn a fourth chord. Amazingly, if regrettably, they struggled on for another 16 years and 10 more largely useless albums. Pleasant Dreams is not without its moments, however, as the Ramones wrung the final morsels of inspiration from their patented one-two-three-four ramalamalama punk ethic. "She's A Sensation" is a deft acknowledgement of their debt to such Spector protegées as the Ronettes and the Shangri-Las that would not have sounded out of place on "End Of The Century", and the wondrously titled "The KKK Took My Baby Away" is one of the Ramones' all-too-rare forays into sociological commentary. --Andrew Mueller

My Opinion
This is a touching documentary and one that leads you with many different emotions. You will fell happy, sad, depressed and excited throughout. However, it's not all mood and gloom. The performances are good by all the musicians, my favourites being Rob Zombie and Henry Rollins. This is another great RamonesDVD but for different reasons. Personally i wouldn't watch this as an introduction to the band but rather as something to watch once you are a fan and know the songs. It's hard to ...
Advantages: Superb Pop Punk Disadvantages: Not one of The Classic Albums
1981 was not a happy time to be in the Ramones the three original members Johnny, Joey and Dee Dee were barley on speaking terms and drummer Marky's alcohol problems was becoming an increasing problem. It was also the year that Johnny married Linda (Joey's ex.), an event which meant that the two men would rarely even acknowledge each other prescience. They were also reeling from the disaster of their previous album "End Of the Century" produced by Phil Spector, that album was supposed to be the one that broke them but didn't, and left a bitter taste in almost everyone involved mouth.
On top of all that stuff going on the tradition of the whole band receiving songwriting credits for every song individual songwriting credits were being issued. Dee Dee did say that this did encourage him to be more competitive. Joey was exercising more ...

Ramones
The ramones were a punk rock band from America. They played 2,263 gigs and toured non stop for nearly 22 years. Their songs are short and usually clock in under the three minute mark. They all took stagenames with the surname Ramone, although none of them were related. Within eight years of their breakup, three of the founding members had died.
The true Story
As you may have guessed, this is the true story of the Ramones. It stars founder member Tommy Ramone, tour manager Monte. A. Melnick, art director Arturo Vega and founder and owner of CBGB's, Hilly Kristal. It includes rare broadcasts from Joey, Deedee and Johnny Ramone that have not been released on DVD before. It shows the story behind the history and music of the Ramones.
My opinion
As another unoficial release, this one is pretty good. I havn ...
