Well despite that fact that I am 20, I still love to watch Disney Films and this is one of my favourites! Obviously, it is not everyones cup of tea, but I find its a brilliant way of filling my evenings while at uni and is a nice gentle film to watch when you just feel like some 'make you feel good' entertainment.
Sypnosis:
Now being a sequal, this film carries on from The Princess Diaries 1 (funnily enough!lol). In the first film we find out that teenager Mia is in fact a princess of a land called Genovia, and that it is likely that she will become the queen! Now after undergoing a make-over and intensive queen lessons, Mia is more prepared and the second film picks up with Mia graduating college and moving to Genovia.
As it is in most films, Mia does not get an easy ride. After only being in Genovia a few days, she overhears parliament discussing an old Genovian Law stating that she is unable to become queen unless she has a husband! Throne-hungry Viscount Mabrey points out that there is infact another heir to the throne, his rather handsome nephew Lord Devereaux. With a bit of negotiation from Queen Clarisse, Mia has 30days to find a husband and get married.
This leads to an intensive search conducted by Mia, her best friend Lily and the Queen to find an appriopriate husband. They think they have found the perfect man in the form of the Englishman Andrew Jacoby.
With queen Clarisse inviting Lord Devereaux to stay at the palace, he uses all his charm to mess up Mia and Andrews wedding plans, inadvertently causing himself to fall for Mia and her for him!
Now I won't ruin the ending for those of you who haven't seen it but.. will Mia find a husband intime or will Lord Devereaux take the throne?
Characters:
Princess Mia and Queen Clarisse return with some of the characters from the first film, Joe, Lily, Charlotte, Paolo, Mia's mum and stepfather, the Priminister, the Von Trocken's and fat louie.
There are a number of new characters introduced into this film, Andrew Jacoby, Lord Devereaux, Viscount Mabrey, Asana (Raven) and many more.

Advantages: Fairytale story of poor to princess, every girls dream, also good comedy value Disadvantages: seem to have heard the story line before, very similar to all other modern cinderella stories.
