Advantages: Sometimes very funny Disadvantages: Generally a bit odd
role of the local Padre, Father Leo Jerome, who has a less than saintly reputation for having regular sex with one of the local prostitutes, Desi. This is a very deadpan role, in which David Schwimmer looks exactly like David Schwimmer, but it didn't do the film any harm, and I enjoyed watching his relationship develop with Desi, played by Maria Grazia Cucinotta. Then there is Kiefer Sutherland, who plays the cop chasing Tex, and who was one of Tex's dead wife's lovers. He is not a particularly nice character, nor is he supposed to be, and to be honest didn't have much of an impact on the film. Still, I've seen worse. Sharon Stone also appears as the dead woman (via a series of flashbacks and supernatural appearances), although she is so heavily tarted up that I wouldn't have recognised her in a month of Sundays!

Advantages: hilarious - awsome Disadvantages: hard to put down
My boyfriend whos a serving soldier bought a copy of this book after reading about it in soldier magazine.
Having had a brief flick through it, i requested it when he was done. Being a slow reader he bought me my own copy @ £7.99 from waterstones. Not all of them carry it and he did have to pre-order it.
the language level is not for the feint hearted, but there are some seriously funny parts that have had me laughing out loud. I am not finished with it yet, but so far it has kept me amused and up reading for some time after i shoud have been fast asleep.
Its listed as a fiction book of a 16 year old lad starting out his career in the mid 80's with the army, though i feel its quite possible that much of it i borne from the actual experience of the authors than of pure fiction .
Starting out from the very start at entering ...
Advantages: Fascinating look at penguins, well shot, bugs bunny cartoon! Disadvantages: The making of covers the same ground
eyes. I'm not normally the kind of person who will watch natural history but this and Grizzly Man certainly show the beauty and brutality of how animals survive in their habitat.
This is an excellent film that can be watched by all ages and it would take a very stern opinion to find fault with it.
- The DVD -
The 1.85:1 widescreen transfer is anamorphic. There is a fantastic amount of detail in the image when we see the penguins close up. Of course a lot of the film was shot in incredibly harsh conditions so we can forgive it for sometimes looking a little washed out. The documentary is beautifully shot and the picture quality is probably better than I expected.
The Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack is pretty sparse. Morgan Freeman's narration is clear whilst the soundtrack creates a good atmosphere as the swirling artic winds blow ...
