Advantages: Compelling thriller with real life similarities Disadvantages: A bit hollow if you look with bigger eyes
employed for our protection might not be all they seem. Secondly the movie burned its imagery and its story into my mind, when it finished I felt a little cold and uneasy, a shocking end arrived unexpectedly and rather suddenly. A movie that leaves you considering its many messages long after the credits roll in my opinion has to be something noteworthy.
The Parallaxview is available on the high street as well as online for around £10, while the DVD has no special features it does have a reasonably sized poster illustrating the movies original artwork promoting the picture 34 years ago. Protected by a classy cardboard outer case if you like movies that shape how the movie industry now looks then The ParallaxView is a movie you can't afford to miss.

[POSTSCRIPT: I was intrigued by the title of this album. Using my trusty search engine I came across an album of the same name by a Jimmie Spheeris from 1971. A footnote gives the following suggestion: "Isle of View. Say those words real ...
Advantages: Great last Bond film for Roger Disadvantages: Not rated as Roger Moore's best Bond
As A View to a kill was the first Bond film I ever saw in the cinema and I have very good memories of it, I thought I should review this one.
This was made in 1985 and was Roger Moores last outing as James Bond, he did not really want to do this one as he thought that he was too old at this stage to play the part. The storyline was actually set up for the new Bond Timothy Dalton but there was a last minute hitch and the film Dalton was currently working on had been put on hold and unfortunately for him he could not get out of it to start his first Bond film. The producers had no option to persuade Roger to do his last one in the role.
This had a very good cast setting With Roger in the title role, Christopher Walken playing the main villain Max Zorin, Grace Jones as his sidekick Mayday, Tanya Roberts playing Bonds love interest ...

DVD Description
Of the three films that make up director Alan J. Pakula's 'paranoid trilogy' (KLUTE, ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN, and THE PARALLAX VIEW), the latter most strongly conveys paranoia. A stylish suspense-thriller, THE PARALLAX VIEW mirrors the political distrust Americans began to feel during the period following the Kennedy assassination and the Vietnam War, culminating in the Watergate conspiracy. The film stars Warren Beatty as investigative journalist Joe Frady, whose former girlfriend and colleague Lee Carter (Paula Prentiss) witnesses the assassination of a US Senator at the Seattle Space Needle. A government report declares it the work of a lone gunman, but when eyewitnesses begin showing up dead, Carter is convinced that a wider conspiracy is at work. Probing deeper, Frady uncovers the operations of the Parallax Corporation, which recruits social misfits and uses mind control techniques to turn them into assassins. In keeping with classic 1970s film, the story
