Advantages: Modern film techniques help bring added realism. Disadvantages: No big cowboys and Indian battles.
...--- OVERVIEW ---
Cowboy/Western films have been especially thin on the ground since the golden era of spaghetti westerns. Kevin Costner has attempted to bring the genre into the 21st century by using modern cinematography with the tried and tested methods of cowboy films everybody likes. Not too epic in its outlook it tells a probably common tale of how America's west grew up.
--- SYNOPSIS ---
Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall play two cattle drivers (along with their two helpers) who use open land to graze there herd. After pleasantly doing this for some time, they come to a town (with a particularly bad landowner, Michael Gambon) which doesn't want them using 'their' land for grazing. Costner and Duvall disagree about this and a showdown ensues with the town’s bad-folk; Gambon and the corrupted Sheriff. Bad things are done...

Advantages: Entertaining, well acted, keeps your attention Disadvantages: Could have been a bit longer
...For my birthday, I decided to eat out at my favourite Mexican restaurant and to go to the cinema to see two films. Advantages: Light, fluffy comedy with two good leads Disadvantages: Unrealistic, more smiles than laugh out loud funny
..."Wimbledon" is the latest romantic comedy from British production company, Working Title. These supremos have previously brought you Notting Hill, Four Weddings and A Funeral, Bridget Jones' Diary and practically any Hugh Grant film that you can think of. No suprise then that this film was originally thought up as a vehicle for Mr Grant.
PLOT:
Obviously, Wimbledon is set during Britain's infamous tennis championship, one of the Grand Slam titles that every tennis player wants to win. Lizzie Bradbury (Kirsten Dunst - Spiderman 2) is no exception. Ranked as the world's number 2 player, she has a good shot at the title and she's not prepared to let it go. Her coach father, Mr Bradbury (Sam Niell - Jurassic Park) constantly pushes her to succeed on the court, usually at the detriment of her off-court life during competitions...
