Advantages: Interesting Special Effects, Film Flows well, Decent Special Features on the DVD Disadvantages: It's not an award winning type of film.
...nothing better to do on the evening he sat down to watch it, I joined him on the sofa, and I have to say I’m mighty glad I did.
**The Plot:**
The setting is ‘The Multiverse’ – a series of parallel universes. From one, a man has escaped and is hunting down ‘himself’. Sounds odd, and it is. The idea of a multiverse has been covered many times within sci-fi, but to my knowledge never before in quite this way. The idea here is that there is a finite ... ...jumping from one universe to the next killing that universe’s version of himself. Each time he kills he, and all the other versions of him which still exist get stronger and more powerful as the amount of energy has to be split between less and less versions of him. The story begins by letting us know that this is what has been happening and that the multiverse police are after this individual and are tracking him. It also lets us know that there ...

Advantages: Some excellent action sequences... at least it didn't star The Rock Disadvantages: Err... almost everything else
Having recently joined the excellent www.dvdsontap.com, who charge a monthly fee rather than a set charge per rental, I have recently watched some DVD’s that I wouldn’t have forked out £3.50 to see but that sufficiently intrigued me to seem worth renting. Occasionally this approach can lead to discovering some remarkable films that, due to the whim of a studio or the fickle nature of cinema going public, may have slipped quietly from a deserved limelight. ... ...and the indifferent reviews and unblindingly average takings are merely a reflection of a film that fails to live up to its hype or promise.
The One seems to have combined the TV Sliders with Highlander for its laughable premise and has tried to imitate the genre-defining Matrix in several of the action set pieces, the results are decidedly average. Where The Matrix slowly reveals its alternative reality, generating intrigue and suspense, The One ...

Advantages: Great martial arts choreography Disadvantages: Mix 'n' match of other action movies
...over a hundred movies, with the majority of them being classical Hong Kong cinema titles. In my mind, there are only a handful of modern martial arts movies that can stand-up to the classical ones and a very small percentage of them are from Hollywood. 'The One' is a movie that comes nowhere near the good martial art movies!
'The One' stars Jet Li, Delroy Lindo, Carla Gugino and Jason Statham. Now Jet Li is well known in the martial arts world for ... ...as it doesn't play down the skillfull martial arts or acting abilities of the characters.
Jet Li is a great martial artist and has played historical figures and legends in his Hong Kong movies by combining his deadly skill and excellent acting abilities. 'The One' is a movie that tries to combine martial arts with a bucket load of CGI. So, what is it about?
The movie is set in the future and Jet Li plays a twin role in this movie as evil Yulaw ...

Advantages: Excellent SFX and story, great characters, great martial arts scenes. Disadvantages: 0
'The One' really is the film to watch right now.
Starring Jet Li, and Delroy Lindo, with superb direction by James Wong, this film pushes the boundaries in martial arts skills, Special FX, and science fiction all at once.
There are many universes, collectively called the multiverse, and within each universe is another version of yourself, they look like you, sound like you, they are you, each of you shares the same essence, and if one of you dies, ... ...to prevent illegal travel between the universes, one day whilst policing the multiverse he unnavoidably has to kill another version of himself, from then on realising that he gets stronger everytime he kills another one of himself, he embarks on an insane journey to become 'The One' the only version of himself left in the multiverse, he can only do that by killing every other version of himself.
Whilst being chased throughout the multiverse by his ...

Advantages: contains most of his Greatest hits and the extended thriller video! Disadvantages: does not hold enough of his songs.
...Michael Jackson is a singer, songwriter, dancer and celebrity icon with a vast catalog of hit records and countless awards to his credit. Beyond that, he has transfixed the world like few entertainers before or since. As a solo performer, he has enjoyed a level of superstardom previously known only to Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Frank Sinatra.
In November of 2003, Jackson released the Greatest Hits compilation 'Number Ones' and the DVD to acompany it.
This DVD has the following track listings:
Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough 4:11 - the early rears of Michael Jackson, from the Off The Wall album showing some of Michael's early dance moves.
Rock With You 3:22 - the early years of Michael Jackson, from the Off The Wall album, this song shows Michael wearing somthing silly!

Advantages: Documentary, half a gig and 4 promo vids! Disadvantages: At 95 minutes long, it just doesn't seem long enough
...I'll be honest from the start, I'm a massive Stereophonics fan. Seen them 7 times live, got all the albums and DVDs etc...you get the gist? I'll try and review this DVD as impartially as possible though. And to be honest it's not that hard to be impartial, because it's just not quite as good or as long as it should be.
The documentary includes the time from March 2004 when the first demos of the Language Sex Violence Other? CD (the one where the Phonics became heavier again) were first laid down, to December 2005 at the end of their UK tour.
Predominantly it revolves around an interview with Kelly Jones (lead vocals and lead guitar) as one might expect, but it also includes contributions from Jim Lowe (manager), Javier Weyler who started the period as studio technician and ended up becoming their first full time drummer since...

THE ONE is based on the futuristic premise that there is more than one universe: there are many parallel universes, each of which contain a slightly different version of every person who has ever lived. Yulaw (Jet Li) is a rogue agent from the Multiverse Bureau of Intelligence who has learned that, by traveling from one parallel universe to another and killing the alternate versions of himself, he gains his counterparts' strength, speed and intelligence. After killing one hundred and 23 parallel versions of himself, Yulaw has gained almost unstoppable power--and there is only one version of himself left, Gabriel Law (Jet Li), a Los Angeles cop. Yulaw travels to the universe that houses his nemesis, followed by a pair of agents intent on stopping him from killing Gabe and either gaining near-godlike powers, or destroying the fabric of all existence. Gabe is confused to find himself being hunted and shot at by himself, but with the help of his wife T.K. (Carla Gugino) and the Multiverse cops (Delroy Lindo and Jason Statham), Gabe engages Yulaw in a series of spectacular fights to become the One. Glen Morgan and James Wong, creators of FINAL DESTINATION and several memorable episodes of THE X-FILES, direct this mind-bending martial-arts extravaganza.
