The One That Got Away shows Germans in a sympathetic - even heroic - light, only a dozen years after WWII had ended. It also makes for an interesting exercise in the power of cinema. Despite bitter postwar feelings it must have been hard for Allied audiences not to root for the `enemy' POW trying to escape back to his homeland. And how many British films of that time would have gambled with a German actor as its leading man? As it happened, this ... ...to a POW camp in the Lake District. His tenacious escape attempts throughout the remainder of the film make for compelling viewing. He tries so hard that you'll really want him to succeed, especially by the end (in a sequence I find quite surreal) when he is half-frozen and can't seem to manage another step. ...

Advantages: All the basics explained. Disadvantages: Slightly poor picture/sound quality
...holds back the float, and the terminal tackle, so it doesn't present the bait naturally. The fluted float combats this by trapping the flow of the water in the concave parts of the float, this produces more drag, to overcome the up-stream wind. The bait is then presented in a more natural way.
Finally there's a short interview with the famous angling author Fred Buller, telling of his preferences when he goes pike fishing, how large he thinks pike can grow and of course the story of the one that gotaway.
The picture quality of this title is similar to that of a vhs tape and certainly not up to the standard of today's dvd's. The sound quality is acceptable but yet again it's not quite right being slightly muffled. But with all that said I found this dvd a thoroughly enjoyable watch and I would recommend it to anyone who...

What’s the big craze I was thinking to myself, everyone has seemed to have watched this but me and my family. Everyone things that it’s so good and it always gets brought up in conversation and I’m always stuck for words with it. That’s why I decided to go and get this DVD from my local Asda so I could see what everyone was raving about. The film was produced by the Disney channel and is in the long line of successful children’s films that they have produced only this one is a musical.
