...OR more than twice actually. The film is about a "multiverse", not a very original idea but interesting. We are not alone as many other parallel universes exist and each individual has his coutnerparts in every other reality. So there are as many Yulaw-s (Jet Li's character) as there are universes in the multiverse. Some time ago it was discovered how to travel between universes and so the Multiverse Bureau of Intelligence was formed. Alongside this ... ...abilities and characterisitics. The 'bad guy' Jet Li character (Yulaw) has gone on a rampage and assasinated all but one versions of himself, so as you may gather his in now pretty good at Kung Fu, Kick Boxing etc. etc. etc. Meanwhile in another part of the universe, the 'good guy' Jet Li character (Gabriel Law) is totally unaware of Yulaw's plan and the multiverse reality. Yulaw is about to break out of his universe and come into Gabriel's. If he ...

Advantages: Superbit versions are actually cheaper it seems, as well as sharper Disadvantages: I suspect this'll only get used for action movies!
...explain. One of the so-called advantages of DVD over VHS movies, is the ability to add extra material, such as “The Making of…” or out-takes and the like. Of course, this all uses up precious disk space, which could, if crammed in too tight, impinge on the sharpness of the movie, particularly a dynamic (fast moving) one like TF&TF.
Laying down a DVD is a lengthy process involving the creation of greater ‘elbow-room’ for the fast-action bits, combined with greater file compression for the slower darker bits. For example, two hours worth of the old BBC 2 test card would be a tiny file-size in computer-speak, comprising one image, which has no changes for hours on end, and some other data to signify how long it should be displayed. By contrast action movies need all the space they can get. This is where the ‘Superbit’ variant comes in.

Advantages: A magical and memorable story, great music, unforgettable visuals. Disadvantages: Not for very young children; some frightening images.

The normal edition has the movie and a significant making-of. The price is pretty good, so if you just want to see the movie, this would be the one to get. The making-of actually is exciting news for us old fans of Labyrinth, because before the DVD, it was so rare it'd go for almost 70 US bucks for a ratty old VHS tape!
The SuperbitDVD is for you quality obsessed people. If you want to see the movie at super high visual and sound quality, get this one. HOWEVER, it does NOT include any extra materials, because the space normally used on the DVD for extra materials is being used for making the image super pretty.
The collector's edition has 2 discs. It also costs 50 US dollars. (I am from the USA, hehe, sorry for not being able to do the pounds conversion.) However, if somehow my review has convinced you to get this one, you'll be rewarded...

DVD Description
THE ONE is based on the futuristic premise that there is more than one universe: there are many parallel universes, each of which contain a slightly different version of every person who has ever lived. Yulaw (Jet Li) is a rogue agent from the Multiverse Bureau of Intelligence who has learned that, by traveling from one parallel universe to another and killing the alternate versions of himself, he gains his counterparts' strength, speed and intelligence. After killing one hundred and 23 parallel versions of himself, Yulaw has gained almost unstoppable power--and there is only one version of himself left, Gabriel Law (Jet Li), a Los Angeles cop. Yulaw travels to the universe that houses his nemesis, followed by a pair of agents intent on stopping him from killing Gabe and either gaining near-godlike powers, or destroying the fabric of all existence. Gabe is confused to find himself being hunted and shot at by himself, but with the help of his wife T.K. (Carla Gugino) and the Multiverse cops (Delroy Lindo and Jason Statham), Gabe engages Yulaw in a series of spectacular fights to become the One. Glen Morgan and James Wong, creators of FINAL DESTINATION and several memorable episodes of THE X-FILES, direct this mind-bending martial-arts extravaganza.
