My interests are watching my fave things on TV and DVD. These mainly are anything with Adam Sandler in, horror movies and too many other comedies to mention. I also love going to the cinema and watching football.

I watched the remake of The Omen when it was shown of TV before Christmas. Yes, I know it's took me a long time to write this review before anyone tells me! I found the film to just be OK, it was nothing special. There was no atmosphere or a real sense of foreboding. I personally think that the film should have been a lot darker and it missed a lot of chances to be so. The two main characters, Mr and Mrs Thorn played by Liev Schreiber (who I used to think was a women with that name!) and Julia Stiles, did not create any feelings of compassion as I found them distant and this meant that I was not fully engaged in the movie. I thought that Damien was odd looking rather then creepy. The lad in the original had a scary look about him which added to the darkness of the film. I think that this was a missed opportunity and where the film lacked creepiness. I found Damien's mum to be wet and wimpy and the character ended up getting on my nerves. There were two scenes that did make me jump though, the scary face seen as a reflection through a mirror and when the dog began to growl. It was a gutteral, monster like sound which I really didn't like. The role of the nurse played by Mia Farrow was excellent. Rather then being just odd and scary she portrayed the nurse with the correct amount of gentleness. She came accross as if she was hypnotised by Damien. I thought that the role of the priest played by Pete Postlethwaite should have been creepier. The scene of his death I thought was very macarbe and this is how more of the film should have been. The storm scenes were excellent and I enjoyed the look of them. I found them to be very realistic. Although the film is set in England, it was filmed largly in the Czech Republic and this was very obvious. None of the scenes outdoors looked like England at all. The scenes were Damien is at home riding his bike around the hallway were very reminiscent of The Shining and I wonder if that was intentional in the hope that viewers might create a fear of what may happen due to the similarities in the scenes. This film for me just passed the time and I know that I'd rather watch the original everytime
