A friend of mine gave me The Notebook to watch and I knew instantly that my fella would not want to watch it so I took the opportunity whilst he was working in Oxford to watch it. As a rule, although I do like to watch a good love story, i don;t always purchase these kind of films, however having heard so many good reviews I thought it would make a change to watch something different to the norm for me.

The NOtebook is based on 2 characters, Noah and Allie. When Noah first set eyes on Allie, he instantly fell in love with her and knew that she was the woman that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Allie however wasn't as easily convinced however when they were set up by their friends to go and watch a movie together, it was then when Allie became to warm to Noah and their love for each other blossomed pretty quickly, leading them to be inseperable and spending ever minute that could together.

The backgrounds of the two teenagers was completely different, Noah came from a working class family that didn't have much money, and he lived with only his father, where as Allie came from an Upper Class family, who were very wealthy and when they met him, they took an instant disliking to him and forbid there daughter from seeing him, later moving away for the two teenagers never to see each other again, which broke both of their hearts.

Years pass by and they both start to move on with their lifes, Noah's father passes on, and he decides to fulfil his dreams and Allie's dreams of their dream home that they once talked about. Allie met an injured soldier, who was also very wealthy and had the approval of her parents to see him, later getting engaged and planning to wed him.....

...until looking through the paper she see's Noah on one page and her love for him comes flooding back to her and all the memories that they once had.

The story is continuously told by an old gentleman, to his female friend who has lost her memory, and by continuously telling her story, he believes that she will remember the story herself. He shows a great interest in this love story and wants his female friend to have the same interest that he does too.

This film is a real tear jerker, and allows you to delve into the characters and their emotions yourself. As the film progresses, you learn the biggest secret of story of all, which will once you realise what is happening make you appreciate the film even more. It's a true love story of two people that love each so much, that are meant to be together and their fight to be together as one for a lifetime, with nothing at all getting in their way or taking one away from the other.

I founf myself sobbing from around half way through ths film on and off until the end, which really will make you cry, especially if you are an emotional person, or you are in a relationship, where you are and always have been very much in love. I found myself having to text my partner as he was working away just to tell him how much i loved him and how much I appreciate him, and it was the film that touched me so much and made me do that.
