* Plot * The movie involves a man(Noah) reading a book to his wife (Allie) in present day looking back on what happened in their lives when they were younger. This is to try and help Allie remember their love story as she now has alzheimer's.
In the 1940's Allie , the seventeen year old daughter of a millionnaire is at a fair with her friends when she catches the eye of Noah. Noah asks her out , but she turns him down. Later on that evening , she gives in to asking , and agrees to go out with him. The two spend all summer together , but Allie is soon set to go off to college. Will Allie go to college , or will she stay and spend the rest of her life with Noah ?
* My Opinion * This movie is soo romantic. Usually I'm not into "old fashioned" movies , however I couldn't get enough of this one. I was so disappointed when it ended. I am a massive fan of TITANIC so when I read in a magazine that this was similar , I just had to watch it , and was definitely not disappointed. There was great chemistry between the two characters , which made it even better. The storyline was different and interesting. I was surprised by the fact that I liked it as it didn't really look my kinda film , but I'm glad that I did watch it. I enjoyed this film because it is different to other romance films , which only seem to be 'light' entertainment. I like something you can really get into and feel what the characters are feeling. I think one of the main reasons why I loved this film was because I hadn't heard of it before and also because usually before watching a film I liked to know a bit about what happens and so when I'm watching it I keep thinking - "when's it going to happen" , but with this I didn't know anything! This film is so beautiful! If you love romance - you'll love this! I wouldn't recommend this film to under 15s as there is a few love scenes! Whilst watching this film , you will feel a range of emotions ; happiness , sadness , frustration etc. This is a film most people can relate to. I definitely recommend watching The Notebook. You won't be disappointed! J
* The Notebook - Film Fact * * The Notebook was filmed in South Carolina because of it's 1940's look!
