followed the Battle of Hastings were marked by violent turmoil. King William eventually responded to the constant uprisings of the Anglo-Saxon people by laying waste to the North of England. It was a brutal period of English history, which saw the introduction of feudalism, a proliferation of Norman churches and castles, and the completion of the remarkable Domesday Book.Authentic re-enactments, dramatised contemporary account, period imagery and expert analysis from Doctor Matthew Strickland (University of Glasgow) give an in-depth understanding of these dark times.

Advantages: Three great plays in one set Disadvantages: No extras
...Alan Ayckbourn is probably one of the greatest comedic playwrights of his generation. His plays are extremely well-executed looks at the frailties and foibles of everyday life and of "ordinary" people.
The NormanConquests (staring Tom Conti as Norman) was made by Thames Television. It is a series of individual plays that cover the weekend of a weekend at a house in the country.
The play are entitled Table Manners, Living Together, and Round and Round the Table. The audience is allowed to eavesdrop on a series of happenings and events that all involve the characters who are living at or staying at the house over the weekend.
The events start at about 5.30 on the Saturday afternoon and continue through until a little after 9 on Monday morning.
Each play is complete of itself, but you would miss the joy of watching everything...

Advantages: For everyone aged 4-100! Disadvantages: If he is not your cup of tea I suppose he could be irritating!
....
Every film that you put in your DVD player you have a choice of menus PLAY = to see the film SCENE SELECTION = As I just explained the different chapters of the film.EXTRAS = In this you can get a quick review of the film before watching it,and also access subtitles if you wish.
In 4 of the films The Early Bird, A Stitch in Time, Trouble in Store and On the Beat audio commentary is also available!
I brought these almost a year ago and for the boxset it cost me £50 which for me as I am a massive fan of his is worth every penny.I have seen them lately on ebay for around £40,each film is around 90 minutes long so if you look at the value, you get 18 hours for £40 plus its in a nice to keep gift set which can be yours forever, and who knows might be worth a few quid years down the line....

Advantages: Well acted, Great Book Adaptation Storylines, Fun for All Ages Disadvantages: Each Movie is About Three Hours Long
...be ignored by the overall storyline.
I was slightly disapointed by this third story since it really didn't go by the books my L.M Montgomery at all. The first two movies are at least based on her books , but this movie was almost entirely made up. I was hoping the third movie would follow the other books about Anne as she is grown up with Children.
Still, the movie was well made and entertaining. It was good to see the actors again, and the costumes anad attention to detail from the World War I era are fantastic. It's not as good as the first two movies, but well worth a watch.
******Conclusion*****
All these movies in the BoxSet; Anne of Green Gables, The Sequel , and The Continuing Story, are so much fun. Children around the age of 7 and up will enjoy the first one. While children more around the age of 10 and up would...
